Love this thing of beauty!
Learning the guitar at sixty five, so we’ll see how it goes but, man! What a beautiful guitar. And for as much as I know, it sounds great. My brother plays electrics including a strat and he thought my Yamaha sounded great. So there’s that. Just signed up for lessons so I’m excited about that. Me and my Yammie!
Fantastic build design and quality.
I watched a lot of videos and read a lot of reviews before purchasing the Revstar Standard. From what I know, there hasn't been a great deal of innovation on electric guitars since the 80s but I think Yamaha has kept a classic look and feel but added some new features and refined some old ones that combine to make a unique instrument that maintains classic tones. I own a Taylor Solid body, a Gretch hallow body, a Shecter S-1 and have owned several Fenders and a Gibson Les Paul. These days Gibson guitars are so expensive and although they have many great qualities I think you are paying a great deal for the name. Yes they are classic and have a great tone and they are beautiful to look at so I am still a fan. I was actually playing my brother in law's Gibson SG when I decided I wanted a new guitar. First I updated my Schecter S-1 with new Gibson SG pickups. Man did that ever help the sound for that guitar. However I still wasn't excited about it. I then looked at used and new, Gibsons and Epiphones. Either too expensive or too many corners cut (Epiphone). Then I started looking and the Yamaha Revstar and it was so well reviewed that it was easy to decide. A great guitar that has a fantastic tone and play-ability. Build Quality is flawless. I am very pleased with my choice and look forward to improving my skills on the slick neck and stainless-steel frets.
Amazing Japanese craftsmanship, and a Great Seller
I'm really impressed by the rapid delivery 24 hours from click to tuning the guitar. Unused to this level of quality,I thought my tuners where bad.... Nope, just buttery smooth, and precision unlike my previous experience with American instruments (no name calling here) I love this flawless service from this vendor and the master craft of the instrument. This is a finally crafted guitar with top shelf, materials, and unique features sense. It is the RSS model with the carbon fiber reinforcements in the neck. The finish of the swift blue is both modern and nostalgic all in one. The quality finish of the pick ups and the fret board along with the chambered body Are as high-quality as any guitar I’ve ever touched or seen. If you watch the reviews concerning this model of guitar, you will see a lot of people say that it punches way above his price point and could go head to head with guitars in the $1500-$2500 range and be right at home. Some people don’t like the five way selector switch, but I’ve never had a problem with it as it feels solid and has distinct clicks. The volume and passive boost button are easy to control and the guitar makes a very unique sound which I feel like as a lot of of sustain and range between tonal sounds. It’s arguably the best buy on the market for any guitar under $1,000 for the standard. Weight: The chamber design keeps it light and avoids neck dive. Looks: The Yamaha RevStar as a mix of modern features with a very retro and vintage look. Finish: They finish and quality are as high level as you could hope to find. Size: The guitar has a very thin and sleek profile, which helps to keep the weight manageable. And the neck dive is nonexistent.
