Pivot joint won’t hold tension — slips loose almost immediately
The tilt/swivel joint where the arm connects to the mount is defective. I tightened the adjustment knob all the way and it still won’t lock in place — the arm just droops or rotates under the weight of the display within minutes. I double-checked for stripped threads and reseated the arm at the joint, but the mechanism itself seems worn or damaged internally. This is a pretty basic function to fail at for a mount, so I can’t recommend it as-is.
Perfect for my travel monitor
I have a 15.6” travel monitor that I wanted to use in a semi-permanent setup. It came with a folding stand, but I needed more height for ergonomic reasons. This stand was perfect for my needs and fit my monitor as described. My monitor is a ZSCMALLS Portable Monitor, 15.6” 1080P. 📊 Use case: flexible - It folds flat and disassembles easily for transport and storage, but is built solidly enough for daily use. - I could see myself using this for a medium- to long-term field assignment, but I don’t think I’d bother for short business trips. For daily commute and short work trips, I use a slim 8 liter backpack, and this stand is too bulky to fit. If you commute with a 20-liter or larger backpack, the stand will fit easily. - Besides a monitor, it can also hold an iPhone in portrait mode (you’d have to clamp it sideways for landscape mode), or an 11-inch iPad in portrait or landscape mode; see photos. - The spring clamp is also secure enough to hold my lightweight monitor rotated sideways in portrait mode. 🛠️ Assembly: easy - It was very easy to put together with no tools— just screw the base onto the arm, loosen the tablet holder joint, pop it onto arm’s ball joint, and tighten to secure. - It came with an Allen wrench for optional adjustment. If you have a heavier monitor or tablet, you can tighten the arm’s joint screws to make them hold more firmly. The tradeoff is that it’ll take more force to move the arm. Mine could already hold up a screen or iPad without needing adjustment out of the box. 🔩 Construction: mostly solid - The arm is secure and stays in its fully extended position when placed there, even when holding a heavier device like an iPad. The arm and all of its joints are metal, which should translate to sturdiness in the long term. - The base is also metal and wide enough that the monitor doesn’t feel wobbly. - The weaker link is the tablet holder, which is plastic. Expand your setup easily with secondary monitor!
Great monitor. We looked a variety of options and this was a good size (16") and higher resolution than others. It came with 3 different cables for options to connect. We were able to easily connect via USB-C to a Lenovo Thinkpad as well as a MS Surface Pro. It was lightweight and portable with good colour and brightness. We use this when working on our dining table as its easy to setup and pack away. We also purchased a monitor stand (separately) for additional flexibility and enable us to sit the monitor above the SurfacePro as opposed to those that attached directly to the device. It was a lifesaver during a recent power outage where my normal mains powered monitor couldn't work and I was able to use this instead.
For the price can't complain.
It seems to be stable so far. It holds tablets and portable monitors effortlessly and doesn't sag. The construction is several points that you can tighten(with a provided alen key) as tighten as you need to keep things in place and the monitor/screen holder is very simple and easy to use. All in all thus is a simple and efficient way to have a tablet/monitor stand that holds things with minimal effort and stylish design. My only issue is re-adjusting it is a pain but given what it does or it's for it functions beautifully(just keep the provided tool close).
Excelente y buenos materiales
Muy buen producto, bastante estable y me sirvió muy bien para mi monitor portatil de 17.3". Está muy bien en materiales y estabilidad. El envío duró un poco de lo especificado pero no me urgía y no importó tanto dada su calidad.
Solid, yet portable
It's actually quite sturdy, made of mostly metal, yet it's not that heavy at all. It's also pretty stable; I can jostle the monitor I'm using with it and the entire setup hardly moves and stops shaking within a few seconds. I actually like how you can loosen and tighten the joints with the included hex key, it does a lot to make the entire thing secure. I do worry a bit about the ball joint used to connect the clamp to the tip of the metal arm. It's easy to use and works fine, but as it's made of plastic and it flexes every time you take it apart or put it together, I suspect if anything were to fail, it would be this. Only time will tell and I very much hope I'm wrong; for now it works fine. Overall, it's very good, especially for traveling with a laptop + external monitor.
