bad quality, support bad, software bugs
Ethernet not working with mac, sound makes noices when laptop goes into standby, display has stripes after 1 month of use and return is difficulty. Support of DELL was not helpful at all. => bad quality display, => software full of bugs and does not support the hardware.
Great size, pixel density, clarity, brightness, all the things. Costs a bit.
Great monitor, if expensive! For the last 10 years, I've had Dell 24" Ultrasharp monitors - the 2415 model. They have been great and are still bright and perform well. But, I was wanting less clutter on my desk, and I found I wasn't really using the far side of the second monitor at all. I searched for a long time and tried to see what might work. Would 32" be too large? Would I have a hard time with window management? Well, that's still a transition I'm working on right now, but it hasn't been an issue. This monitor is bright, not too heavy, and has a TON of ports. I eventually want to get a mini-PC that is powered from this monitor's 140w Thunderbolt connection. For now, I have used the "KVM" function with some success although I haven't made it part of my workflow yet. It IS a bit pricey. But I wanted 4k and I wanted 120hz, so here we are. And I figure since I haven't bought monitors in 10 years, and I stare at one all day for my job, that it was worth it. Pixel density is a special shout-out since I can't see pixels as I could with the 2415s previously. It's a bit heavy for my existing desk-mounted monitor arm, so I may have to upgrade that at some point. But for now, it's holding. And there are many fewer cables around now. I would have been happy to pay $500 or $600 for this monitor, but $850 seems a bit steep. In the end, I consoled myself that it was for my eye health. Even though we both know that isn't true.
Apple Monitor User Won Over
I've only used Macs and Apple monitors since my first computer purchase of a Mac Plus in 40 years ago, but a decent-sized Apple monitor seems inordinately expensive now so I bought this Dell when I bought a new Mac Mini. After a brief period of Apple-monitor-withdrawal, I'm now delighted with the sharpness, brightness and large real estate offered by this monitor. I don't miss the camera: I dislike Zooming and have no other use for a monitor camera. I also don't miss speakers: the sound from my Mac Mini is adequate and if I need better audio I can use buds or strap on headphones. I like having the ability to regulate the monitor height and tilt, but don't use the Dell's portrait swivel function. I also don't need most of the inputs, so I wish that I weren't paying for all the extras, but there's no other monitor that has specs this good for anywhere near the price.
No U.S. Warranty
Beautiful monitor, but the built-in hub was defective. Devices connected through the hub would not communicate with my laptop over Thunderbolt. Dell confirmed the unit was faulty and offered a replacement, but the service tag showed it was an international unit registered in Costa Rica with no U.S. warranty coverage. Fortunately, I was able to return it for a full refund. However, Amazon/Woot did not disclose that this was an international unit and that ownership had not been transferred to a U.S. entity. Had it failed outside the return window, the warranty situation could have been a major issue.
Excellent monitor
I'm using two of these Dell U3225QE monitors with an M4 Max Mac Studio. Really great monitors. Plenty bright, great colors, excellent contrast, and text clarity is much better than I thought it would be at this ppi. I have not had any problems with the displays being recognized when starting up from shutdown, waking from sleep, or recovering from screensaver. That being said, there is a recent firmware update (18 Aug 2025) for the monitor you will want to apply. It addresses some macOS specific connection issues and other stuff as well. I did have some issues performing the update with my Mac connected via Thunderbolt cable. The Dell utility for macOS wasn't seeing the monitors. Luckily, I had a Windows PC sitting around that already had the Dell utility installed, and the monitor was recognized immediately, and the update went very smooth. It took about 30 minutes for the firmware update to complete. Also, due to how Macs handle display resolution, I had to install a third-party app utility called BetterDisplay, in order to get 120Hz at 3360x1890, the specific display resolution I wanted to use. For some reason, macOS will not natively provide 120Hz at this resolution, although it does at all other available resolutions. Not ideal, but at least there is a workaround by using this little app. I ended up buying the app, it only cost $20 and its very powerful with a ton of features. So yeah, excellent monitor, but not as macOS friendly as I'd like. That being said, if you've got a little patience, you can get everything to work just fine. I'm really happy with this monitor and plan to buy a third.
Excellent 4K Monitor for Work and Productivity
I’ve been using this monitor for work every day, and it has exceeded my expectations. The 4K resolution is incredibly sharp, making text easy to read and reducing eye strain during long work sessions. Colors look vibrant and accurate, and the 120Hz refresh rate makes everything feel much smoother than a standard 60Hz display. The built-in Thunderbolt connectivity is very convenient—one cable handles video, charging, and peripherals, which keeps my desk clean and organized. The stand is sturdy and offers plenty of adjustment options. Overall, this is an excellent monitor for productivity, programming, photo editing, and general office use. Highly recommended if you’re looking for a premium 32-inch 4K display.
