Great tile quality, but misleading piece count and uneven colors
I bought two sets and ended up returning them. To be fair, the build quality of the magnetic tiles is great—the plastic is sturdy and the magnets are genuinely strong. However, I was disappointed by the actual contents. The advertised "100 pieces" is inflated: only 81 pieces are actual magnetic tiles. The remaining 19 pieces are filler items (13 non-magnetic Clickins letter inserts, 5 non-magnetic plastic windows, and the paper idea booklet). Furthermore, the color distribution is completely unbalanced; my box had zero purple tiles and an excess of red ones (around 8). Good quality product, but the piece count marketing and random color packaging make it not worth keeping for structured building.
Absolutely love these tiles – a fantastic investment in creativity!
We purchased the Playmags 100-piece set for our kids, and it has quickly become a household favorite. The quality is outstanding; the tiles are sturdy, the colors are bright and vivid, and the magnets are strong enough to build impressive, stable structures. What I appreciate most is the educational value. It's a wonderful STEM toy that encourages creativity, problem-solving, and spatial reasoning without feeling like "learning". The value is incredible, especially compared to more expensive brand-name alternatives. If you're looking for a durable, engaging, and educational toy that will provide countless hours of screen-free fun, I highly recommend the Playmags set. It's a great gift for any child!
Best kids toy ever
I got this set for my son 4 years ago when he was 2 and ever since it’s been the most played with toy in our house. I decided to review it now as we keep finding new uses for these magnets, now that he’s in year 1 we used them to explore 3D shapes and their nets and I can’t imagine a better learning aid for this task. My 2 year old is fascinated and plays with them daily, she recently discovered that they stick to the fridge which actually makes quite a good background for magnetic pictures. We were gifted another type of magnets at some point, the ones that it’s only the outline of the shape but they don’t get anywhere near in terms of sturdiness of structures and are much smaller than these ones. I also bought another set of non branded tiles, they seem very similar but one type of triangles don’t match so I would recommend sticking to one brand of tiles if someone want to expand their collection. Ours are now quite scratched but my kids haven’t managed to damage them over years of use even when dramatically collapsing their structures. The only negative is that some sides don’t always stick together evenly, which sometimes creates weak points in constructions but overall it’s a really best spent money when it comes to kids toys.
