Outstanding laser
Fantastic piece of kit. Very well packed, easy to set up and calibrate. Free xTool creative software a little confusing but if you are used to lasers you will get the hang of it.
Powerful, fast, and super capable — but takes time to dial in
I’ve been using the xTool F2 Ultra for a bit now, and overall, I’m really impressed with what this thing can do. It’s a beast in a compact form factor. Between the 60 W MOPA fiber laser and the 40 W diode laser, you can handle pretty much any material you throw at it — metal, wood, leather, acrylic, anodized aluminum — all from the same machine. Setup was surprisingly smooth. It comes well-packed, software install was straightforward, and within an hour I was engraving test pieces. The build quality feels premium — solid enclosure, clean layout, fans that don’t sound like a jet engine, and everything fits together like a professional tool. The cameras are super high-res, and having two of them makes alignment easier in theory — but it’s not perfect yet. Here’s where things get a little tricky: actually getting the engraving to land exactly where you want can take a few tries. The camera preview isn’t always dead-on accurate, especially if your material isn’t perfectly flat or reflective. You learn quickly that it’s worth doing a test pass before committing to a real part. Once it’s aligned, though, it’s rock solid. Color engraving — that’s the big draw for the MOPA fiber side — looks amazing when it works. But I’ll be honest: getting consistent color results takes patience. It’s not just “pick a color and go.” You have to tune the frequency, power, speed, and spacing to hit the right oxidation effect on the metal. It can be a bit of trial and error, and even small tweaks change the outcome. I’ve had some beautiful rainbow anodized effects on stainless steel, but also some “what happened here?” moments along the way. It’s definitely part art, part science. The software (xTool Creative Space) is solid for the basics — great for aligning and setting up jobs — but for advanced stuff like color work or detailed raster engraving, there’s a bit of a learning curve. Great for most things
I purchased this laser last black friday (2025) and I'm going to rate 5 stars with a caveat. I did have one laser fail (die) when engraving a brass coin. That took some time for me to figure out that was the issue and I had to get a replacement. xTool has added a warning in the software for reflective materials but I'm hesitant to try engraving brass coins again. With that said there are a lot of people on the xTool FB group that have done 100's with no issues. Coming from using a co2 laser there was a learning curve since you have a lot of adjustments/settings. Some settings you can get from FB groups or other sources, but you really need to run a lot of calibration tests. The software does a good job at helping with that. I added some examples of stainless and titanium sheets. For engraving vector images on tumblers the Blue Laser with 2 passes at 35% power, 200-300 LPC, and 400mm/s depending on the brand. In a rush I've had success with 1 passes at 40% power, 200-300 LPC, and 400mm/s. Bitmap images take more effort and I find that the MOPA IR gives a better appearance than the Blue Laser. I've engraved p-mags, aluminum business cards, dog tags, canning lids, glass, Tormach TTS tool holders, Allen keys, ceramic cups, and any non toxic materials. I make jigs for a lot of these even if I'm only going to be using it once and publish the models online for others. A note about ceramic cup engraving is cool, but it will make a mess in your machine and everything will be gritty. I'm not running a business and use the laser to make gifts and to mess around with for my projects. If your primary goal is to make challenge coins I would definitely purchase an extended warranty or buy a dedicated machine for challenge coins. For everything else this laser has been great in my experience and I've made a lot of gifts

Red laser went out quickly.
Red laser went out twice. Both times Xtool replaced the machine. Took several weeks each time. I ended up just returning it. Everything else was great with it.
