Amazing, Reasonably-Priced Earpro Upgrade
Sordin's headset is an amazing value given the performance. Coming from the cheapie Impact Sports and Razer headsets most are used to, this is a huge performance leap forward for a totally reasonable amount of money. "But ~$300 is a lot of money!" Well, yes, but that's subjective. Tinnitus and hearing loss are irreversible. A proper set of Peltor Comtacs are closer to $500. If you jump up in capability, we're looking more into the $800 to $1,500 range. For example, the excellent OpsCore AMP is $1,200+ from most sources. The Sordin headset is extremely comfortable, does a great job with compression, offers great clarity through earplugs, looks great, and the neckband design is a lot more comfortable (especially with a hat). This was tested during a long class with rifle percussion, paired with Loop Switch Earplugs (which I had in the "open position") and I experienced no hearing damage while still being able to clearly hear instructors. The "Hear 2" profile worked great on a crowded range with 15 active students. Very impressive technology and fitment for the price. Highly recommended for anyone serious. Double up with the Loop Switch for "NFMI Earplugs At Home".
