If you are looking for a pair of high quality electronic ear defenders then anything from the Sorin brand will definitely fit the bill as they are known for being one of the best on the market and are used by various military and law enforcement forces around the world. The Sordin Supreme X2’s have a nice compact design, are fairly light weight and feel quite rugged and sturdy with their ABS plastic cups and Stainless Steel frame. They feature Sordin HEAR2, which lets you choose between 4 different sound modes. You have an ambient mode which reduces all sound (much like regular ear defenders), but you also have some ambient modes that can really amplify the sounds around you – this is great for things like hunting, as you can hear the slightest rustle. In the ambient modes, as soon as a loud noise (such as a gun shot) is detected, it will instantly turn off ambient mode and reduce the noise to a safe level. The ear cups are extremely comfortable to wear with their gel cushions and have a really low profile. On one ear cup you have a single battery compartment that takes one AA battery and on the other cup you have 3 buttons. One is used to switch the defenders on/off and to switch between “hunter” and “shooter” mode, whilst the other 2 buttons control the volume up/down and to turn the ambient mode off or activate focus mode. The defenders are waterproof and have a 29 SNR protection rating and a 3.5mm audio jack that can be used to connect a radio/music device. ***** In The Box ***** 1 x Supreme X2 1 x AA Battery 1 x Pair Foam Ear Plugs 1 x User Guide ***** Conclusion ***** I have to be honest and say this is the first pair of active ear defenders I’ve used and can honestly say they are extremely good. They are really comfortable to wear and apply very little force to the sides of your head, whilst the soft ear pads manage to provide a really good seal. The low profile of the cups means you don’t get a huge amount of space for your ears (although I don’t find this a

WHAT?!
Painful price, but an excellent bit of kit - If you go shooting, ear defenders like these are essential. At a whopping price of £350, they aren’t cheap but you really can’t put a price on potentially loosing your hearing. Compared to some others, these are decent quality and feel fairly well made but not exceptional. Performance-wise though, they are great. When you fire they kick in to reduce the sound to a non harmful level and disable ambient mode. No ear ringing, no ear damage, but you can hear when you want to without removing them - An essential ear protection product

Hearing protection that actually sounds natural
Electronic hearing protection earmuffs designed for shooting and hunting, with a dual-mode system that lets you switch between a general amplification mode and a mode tuned for gunshot suppression. What sets these apart from cheaper electronic muffs is the sound quality. In amplification mode, the microphones pick up ambient sound in a way that sounds natural rather than the muffled, robot-like quality you get from budget models. You can have a conversation at the range without removing them, and the electronic suppression kicks in fast enough when a shot fires that your ears do not get hammered. The ear cushions seal well without pressing uncomfortably against your head. I wore these through a full day of shooting clays without the pressure fatigue that I get from some other muffs. The headband tension is adjustable and the padding is holding up after months of regular use. The dual-mode feature is genuinely useful. General mode works fine for range commands and conversation between shots, and when someone lets off a rifle round next to you, the suppression is immediate and effective. NRR 35 is a solid rating for this style of muff. Battery life has been good with regular use. They take standard AAA batteries and the compartment is easy to open. For anyone who shoots regularly, good electronic hearing protection is worth having and these are among the better options at this price.
