Great for first timers!
First time chuck hatcher here! This is very user friendly & made it so easy to hatch our first ever batch of chickens! it was easy to assemble and follow the directions and it does a great job explaining the steps as the process goes along! HIGHLY recommend!

I bought the VEVOR Egg Incubator because it was small, but still big enough for my needs. I am not a novice at hatching eggs, and I found the controller to be simple and straightforward. It is imperative to check the water every 48 hours. I just lift the bottle a little until the tray fills up to the line, keeping a flashlight close so I can easily verify the level. For my first batch, I added 18 guinea fowl eggs. I really like the instruction book, the countdown timer, and the automatic egg turner, which runs for 10 seconds every two hours and then resets. For the first 16 days, the temperature stayed at 100.4°F and humidity at 63% with just one water chamber filled. I kept the unit on the floor on a piece of cardboard and only used the bottom polyfoam during incubation. I especially like the built-in candling light—it works great and allowed me to see the baby guineas at 11 days! While the unit is not completely quiet, it works exactly as it should. In my opinion, this unit is just as good as a $125 one. I'm very pleased with my purchase! Thank You. July 4, 2026
Overall, not a good incubator
So I’ve used this twice now. My hatch rate went through the floor. Less than 30%. I did two separate incubations to ensure that it wasn’t my eggs. I’ve always had a very high hatch rate with the hens and rooster that I have. I bought this larger incubator and noticed that the humidity widely swings day to day. It is a constant issue. The incubator itself does not seal. The bottom plastic is so thin that it bows under the weight of the top, creating gaps. I’m going to go back to my round, 12 egg incubator.

It has some quirks
I awaited my first batch to hatch with this incubator before writing this review to ensure both an accurate and fair assessment. So, I had a higher hatch rate than most say they have with both shipped eggs and incubators purchased on Amazon. The incubator itself is rather stable, and I am overall pleased with it. Albeit, according to my temperature gun, the heat is somewhat uneven throughout the incubator by a few degrees, but I expected it would be as such; nothing is perfect. Also, sometimes there are uncontrollable humidity spikes, and the vents did not help a whole lot with the few I observed. Despite the above, the design itself is why I am only giving it three stars, and here is why - There are two large holes meant for convenience on the left and the right (meant to assist with lifting the bottom out) that chicks fall into and get stuck after hatching; I almost lost one because of them (he tripped and face planted into the hole). My review video is of the second chick to hatch. I did not capture the video of the chick falling into the hole on the right. Ultimately, I had to crack the lid and push him out of the hole. I then used a small paper towel to plug it, so it wouldn't happen again. Also, you have to be very careful when you're seating the lid - it isn't always flush, which could cause huge issues for the hatching process. Also, the mechanism that connects to the motor that turns the eggs fell off at one point. Fortunately, I caught it before it caused an issue. Just know, it has to be seated on there using a bit of elbow grease; otherwise, it can come right off and fail to turn your eggs. In terms of noise levels, this incubator was rather quiet (it has a low-key hum to it, and it's easy to forget it's there). With all of that said, fortunately, out of 14 eggs (not counting the 10 infertile eggs I had), we enjoyed 8 hatchings that are just fine, 1 assisted hatch, 2 quitters, and 5 that just never developed past very early stages (mostly yolk, and not l
