Don't be scared if it suddenly turns off
The 8 hour battery life seems like a very strong exaggeration. I certainly don't play insane trap songs or anything which I imagine would use a lot of battery, but I do play semi-energetic songs (Electro Swing, EDM, etc.). The battery lasts maybe an hour at most. Perhaps mine is defective? It only takes like 15 minutes to charge, which is insanely quick, but likely because of how small the battery is. There is also no warning when the battery is about to go. It just turns off. So don't be scared that you broke it if it suddenly stops lighting up - it probably just needs a recharge. Only one of my sticks actually changes colour on impact. The other just cycles colours no matter if I'm playing or not. The sticks are a lot thicker than you'd expect, so you have to hit at a much steeper angle to avoid rim shots if you plan on acoustic. There is also absolutely zero vibration absorption or anything, so playing anything fast is tricky since the sticks are literally shaking your hands as you play from the previous hits. I play these on an electric kit with mesh heads, so beyond some scuffs, the plastic is strong enough for my playstyle. I would be seriously concerned about the crash on an acoustic kit chipping the plastic though, but then again, they're so thick that it probably doesn't matter. The included charging cable is tiny, so you may need an extension cable depending on your set up. Everything being said and done, they do look really cool, and as a gimmick, are really fun to play on occasionally, either for parties or just playing around by yourself. Absolute blast playing with these, and so long as you still have a normal pair of sticks for general playing, there's no reason not to get them. Shame about the battery life though.
