Well thought out quality that works with Xtool D1 Pro laser engraver.
This laser attachment was a gift from my wife, and I have not been compensated for this review in any way. I have used laser engravers as a hobby for 3 years; had 2 different brands and have upgraded 3 times. Now I have an Xtool D1 Pro 20 watt laser engraver. I have mainly used Lightburn during that time. I have never used a rotary attachment. So, when my wife had me pick out one, I had a great deal of trepidation not knowing what I was getting in to. After researching, I decided this Longer one was what I wanted. As I unpacked it, my impression was that it was made by people who take pride in their work. The heft, fit and finish are impressive. The instructions are excellent, even including Lightburn instructions. After taking some of it apart just for curiosity, I found my first impressions were correct. I Have used both sets of included jaws as well as posts to hold round objects. As is usual with laser products, Allen wrenches are included, but surprisingly, the included mini level is critical. The included tape measure is a nice addition. While it may sound trivial, the plastic bags the parts are packed in is a heavier, slippery plastic, which makes them easy to close and reopen, making them the best such bags I have used for item storage. As I had never taken cables off my laser axes before, I had some confusion hooking it up to my laser with one of the included cables, but was soon able to try my first engraving – which worked. Having now used it to do engraving on several glass cylinders; and a large glass mug with a large handle, I realize that I made an excellent choice. Having never had a rotary attachment before, I cannot compare it to any other rotary. Even so. my experience may be helpful. Engraving is straightforward with the Longer attached to the Xtool using Lightburn. There is a learning curve just learning to use a rotary attachment. I am still trying combinations of inner and outer jaws for holding the work. I also found that shrinking the Y axis

Lack of instruction and cables do not fit my laser
Arrived without a manual. It comes with two cables that are exactly the same fittings, but different color ends. No instructions as to where to attach it to the laser. Watched multiple youtube videos. The videos show to attach it to the Y axis of my laser, neither cable end fit my laser. Longer replied to my email and sent a manual for a roller rotary. I showed them I purchased the chuck rotary. The manual went into detail on how to put the roller rotary together. No instructions in the manual to show where it connects on the laser. Now I'm back to waiting for the correct chuck rotary manual.

I have a Longer Ray5 20w engraver and the 20W laser module is too large to fit with this rotary even with the riser kit useing both 4 inch risers sections and the module can not be moved high enough to function with out additional riser I should have just purchased the cheaper roller

5Th Rotary (3rd Brand) Seems to Be The Charm!
This is the 5th Rotary I have bought for my Creality 22W Pro. AND, So far this is the BEST ROTARY. Hookup was SEAMLESS. It is the sturdiest, largest rotary I have seen. ITS A THING OF BEAUTY. 🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻 nothing goes wrong but it cut 3 40oz tumblers today, no movement/sliding off, no jumping, no BAD PROGRAMMING that has made the laser bang against the side of the laser itself, connects with Lightburn PERFECTLY & FAST. I am SOOOOO IMPRESSED this far and am really hoping it stays THIS PERFECT! All the other Rotary’s broke, caliper/jig covers ripped after the first use, had major missing pieces upon delivery, wouldn’t securely hold up a big 40, 50, or 100oz tumbler because either the bases were too short, no heavy enough & attachments couldn’t be attached to the base to balance the end of the tumblers but this one is an impressive 14.5” long and attaches to the base of the rotary and is almost as large as the laser itself and that’s a WIN on its own! Will be back to do another review if it falters but I’m not expecting it to. I am EXCITED!!!

Would be an amazing rotary, if its compatible with your laser
The ad says it’s compatible with the Longer Ray 5...it was not. My 1st one had loose parts inside it, so I returned it without ever turning it on. 2nd..well that was not being seen by my Longer software or Lightburn. Tried several times before returning it. The rotary would spin and it appeared at first if it would work, but that was just the initial turning on of the laser, which this rotary was attached to through its provided cable. But, I tried many many times and LightBurn would not or did not see it. Had to go back to the smaller roller type rotary for my laser, but honestly I really wanted it to work because it’s built beautifully..very nice quality, and has a much better item adjustable holder. If it works on your laser then you will have an awesome rotary. Oh, and btw, it is a bit large, so a reminder to get lifter legs or however you will raise the laser frame, otherwise your laser will not clear or pass by it properly. Best of luck.
