Brilliant — A Perfect Addition to My New Gaming Rig
I’ve just started building a new gaming PC, and with the ROG Strix Helios case being an absolute beast, I had a huge empty space inside practically begging for something stylish to fill it. That’s when I stumbled across the Lian Li 8.8" screen, and honestly, it turned out to be the perfect solution. The screen arrived the same day I ordered it, well‑packaged and immediately giving off a premium feel. It’s solid, weighty, and refreshingly free of cheap plastics. My front case fans are 140mm, and although a few reviewers mentioned that the screen would fit, none explained how. It turns out the screen includes a small attachment that screws onto the bracket, allowing you to mount it directly onto your 140mm fan. Simple, clever, and effective. Fitting it was easy once I figured out the orientation I wanted. The connection was straightforward too — I used an internal USB header on the motherboard, plugged it in, and it worked instantly. After downloading the software, a few clicks later and boom — my PC looked incredible with the screen lit up and fully integrated. The software is intuitive, offering plenty of customisation for both the main display and the LED edging. I haven’t explored the full creative side yet, but I’m looking forward to designing my own graphics or using some from the Steam workshop. As you can see in my quick video, there’s still space near the PSU shroud, so I’m already considering adding a second screen. Overall, I’m genuinely impressed. This display ticks every box — build quality, ease of installation, software, aesthetics — and I’d highly recommend it to anyone who loves a bit of RGB flair or wants to elevate their setup.
