Powerful Vac
I bought this to keep the area around my rat cages clean, because love to kick their bedding (hemp and wood shavings) everywhere, requiring vacuuming at least once a day, and my previous vacuum wasn't keeping up with what it needed to suck. No such trouble with this Shark though! It sucks up hemp chips and wood shavings like a champ! The auto-sense works perfectly and adjusts the power necessary in that area with no issues. It grabs up a lot of pet hair too, just as described. I've attached a video of some excess debris in the middle of a cage-clean today to show how well it goes! It also picks up and filters an insane amount of dust! Looking at my previous vacs, you wouldn't know how much dust was lingering about in carpets, on upholstery, curtains, etc. This Shark gives my air purifier a run for its money as far as dander and dust-filtering goes. The little air pod it came with leaves the air post-vacuum with a nice, fresh sent as well. The folding part of the tube makes for both easy storage, and a cinch for getting under anything that has a 90° angle, which is perfect for someone who has a back condition like me - no more bending and hunching and getting down on the floor! The main head also has a very versatile axis that makes it easy to manoeuvre and get into places that used to be fiddly or troublesome. I have extremely long hair that passes my bum and I swear I shed more than my long-haired, double-coated Pomeranian cross, but I have had zero issues with tangling in the vacuum head, which has been a blessing compared to my previous vacs, which have needed hair build-up to be chopped off the roll every few weeks. Quite literally, the only con I can think of is the tank size. However, that's no problem to me as my house is small and I have multiple bins about, so I don't mind emptying it as I go. The one-button empty mechanism is a blessing and I'm glad I no longer have to fiddle with the tank. All in all: amazing vacuum! Does everything it claims and exceeded
The best
This review covers the initial week of ownership; I will provide a long-term update after a few months of daily use, if I find any negatives. Our house is an average four-bed property, approximately 80% of which is fitted with new, deep-pile carpet. We required a decent cordless unit capable of serving as the primary cleaner. I opted for this Shark model over the Dyson V11 (nearly a hundred quid more) which I was going to buy, during a pre-Black Friday sale, and the initial performance regarding build quality, suction, and battery endurance has been excellent. The battery life significantly exceeds my expectations and contradicts negative online reviews. You don't need to go for the dual battery one unless you have a particularly big house. We are consistently able to clean the entire house—including all carpets, hard floors, and using the duster attachment for all shelves and flat surfaces—and still retain approximately 20% charge remaining. This capacity comfortably ensures a complete, deep-cleaning cycle of the property on a single charge. The cleaning power is comparable to our previous, reliable unit: a 5-year-old corded Shark Lift-Away. This cordless replacement matches the corded model’s deep-cleaning capability but provides superior convenience, portability, and storage. Furthermore, the IQ Sense feature is highly effective and responsive. It seamlessly and automatically ramps up the suction the instant it detects a concentration of dirt or debris, eliminating the need to manually adjust power modes. The vacuum has effortlessly replaced both our old corded unit and the secondary cheap stick vac previously used for quick cleans. While this is a significant investment, its proven ability to handle deep-pile carpet and function as a main, whole-house cleaner genuinely justifies the cost. Based on performance, I would consider it excellent value and would not hesitate to pay the full £450 RRP. It is a high-performance piece of kit.
Powerful but very heavy for oap's
I purchased this vac for my 89 year old mother who is very fit for her age and is always cleaning her home but she say this vac is too heavy for her so il get her another brand il keep it myself as the trigger on my four month old dyson has broke and im wailting for the part to repair it myself
Excellent vacuum cleaner - very efficient
It has proved to be a very good buy. It is is so much easier to use than my heavy plug in. It claims to pick up 50% more dirt and it does. I was shocked at how dirty my floors were. It needs recharging more than I imagined and full power, rather than eco, uses a lot of use. Good value for money.
