Spartan by Design, Possibly a Little Too Spartan
What I keep noticing about this bag is everything that is not on it. No webbing, no mesh pockets, no clips or loops dangling off the sides, no bottle sleeve, no mystery zipper that opens into a compartment you will never use. Most bags this size drift toward being a small backpack. This one plainly decided not to. Pure simplicity, nothing extraneous. Martha Stewart would approve. It commits to that so thoroughly that it also arrived without a shoulder strap. The product comparison chart on the listing says this model has a removable one. Mine did not have it. There are two sturdy metal loops on the sides, clearly put there to carry a strap, which makes the absence feel less like a design decision and more like something that fell off a packing line somewhere. I like the bag enough that I will go buy a strap. You should not have to, and it is worth knowing before you order. So yes, I am the guy praising a bag for refusing to have features and then shopping for the one feature it is missing. I have made peace with it. The rest holds up. The fabric is substantial, the zipper runs smoothly, and the interior liner is welded rather than stitched, so there are no seams to leak through. It wipes out with a cloth and weighs almost nothing empty. It takes plastic bento boxes and a gel ice brick with room to spare. You could fill it with loose ice if you wanted, though the gel pack seems like the easier route. It is not cheap, and that got noticed at work. Some of what you are paying here is the name, and I would not pretend otherwise. The welded liner and the warranty add genuine value, but you can get a bag that carries lunch for half this. It also just looks like a proper piece of gear when you set it on a table, which is more than I can say for most lunch bags.

Love the color
This has been an excellent lunch box! The interior is one piece, so super easy to clean out. The fabric is also hydrophobic so things do not get absorbed right away. The build quality for everything is really nice; the handle is small but an excellent size. It is stitched down nicely, and feels very secure. The zipper is great, and zips up smoothly. The insulation & shaping of this is nice and dense as well. It retains its shape, even when empty and when it was kinda squashed. This really looks like a casserole dish carrying bag. It's the right size for one too, so it would probably do a great job for that! I have been able to pack my lunch in here without much issue; I am just using random containers and tossing some fruit/cheeses in without any issues. I will say, even with the size, I do feel like there is some limitation for space if you use a bento box and ever need anything extra in there. I really love the color, and that there were quite a few other options to pick from. Also, I like that it comes in a recyclable bag. I have some other hydro flask items, and have been really happy with all of their products so far.

Don't love the design, but it is a solid lunch box
I really like Hydro Flask lunch boxes. They generally have interesting styles, but this one is a little weird. It looks like something you'd carry a casserole in. It does fit Bento boxes rather well, but then it's hard to fit a soda can or drink. It's a really odd size and there's no way it could fit in a backpack. It looks like it should include a strap because it has rings on the side, but it didn't come with a strap. LIke the other Hydro Flask lunch bags, the insulation isn't super thick, but it keeps things nice and cool for hours. The black color is classic, and you can feel the quality in the the construction. The zipper is super smooth, and there is value, but the box itself is just a little weird looking. It's not my favorite bag, but it does have a place in my collection.

Very high quality
This product is a the perfect lunchbox size. Its insulation kept my food cool with an ice pack. I purchased the black one and the quality is high. It has two tones, with the top fabric-ish and the bottom leather-ish, although the material all feels the same. The interior is a smooth, high quality rubber like , one piece material that is super easy to clean. It’s not a cheap product, but it’s high quality and I think a good value for the money.
