A bit weird drop sequence, but it works.
If you want a relatively cheap way to add more functionality to your Avata, here's something different. Due to the size and lift limitations of the craft, this device has about a 5 1/3 oz. capacity, but it's a remote release system that basically carries its own battery and snaps right onto your drone. The idea is that you tie a bit of cord to your cargo and attach one of the included little metal rings to the end that connects with the drop device, which is a motion sensing hook that lowers when it sense stationary rotation for about ten seconds. That lowering of the front lip of the hook allows the metal ring to slip forward and off of the hook thereby initiating free-fall. It seems a bit hokey the first time, but it does work, as long as you remember to charge the unit first and then to turn it on before launching that is. I would definitely make your first attempt with maybe a one ounce payload, and make all deliveries on a perfectly still and windless day. The little drone wasn't built for this, so the full weight in a cross wind will really tax things. I wanted to try it out drone fishing at the beach, but the struggle at anything near capacity coupled with the relentless breeze off of the ocean squelched that idea pretty quickly. Still, it's a fascinating exercise and the kids really got excited witnessing it all. I would also suggest making yourself some sort of cradle or extended landing gear to launch from since the line and cargo, along with the drop device itself, can keep you from lifting straight up up and away. Not absolutely necessary, but it helps. The plastics used are pretty tough stuff, ABS I believe, and I've only operated out to about 100 meters laterally and two hundred feet high, and not over water, just mowed hay. As you'd imagine the avionics and handling aren't happy with the added weight and drag, so watch your battery life and flight time. For the asking price, I was honestly surprised that it worked at all, but it's not a true remote con
