Love This Brand & Their Products - Pick Which Works For You - This One Is Aggressive

I've had the pleasure to try each of the 4 Leaf Razors and find them all quite nice with excellent build qualities and the appreciation for a US made product. Here are my opinions of each to help you decide. Thorn: Aggressive, especially for a single blade. Cuts great but left me with some bumps. Given that I have the other 3 razors, this one seemed unnecessary to keep. Though I will say, for someone looking for a more aggressive, single bladed detailer or who just prefers a single edge, the quality is excellent. Twig: https://amzn.to/4hptYf5 Almost too mild, though I did keep this razor. For detail work and quick touchups, this razor is excellent. The smaller head allows this to clean up tighter spots much easier than the 2 or 3 blade. A nice razor for the quiver, but often requires many passes. Leaf 2: https://amzn.to/4hs4bmy Another highly aggressive blade but has its merits. The push to open function is so fast and convenient, though it can lead to accidental openings if you bump it. The spring action is something I don't like. During head shaving I get chatter and the aggressive blade angle with grab hair and throw the head angle way back creating tugging and a poor feel. You can place a finger on the head to prevent the kickback which greatly improves the cut but the creates strange ergonomics. Overall this is my favorite design, but the aggressiveness and head pivot make it the one I use the least. It really thrives at thinner body hair however. Since there is no tugging, the larger gap never clogs the blade with hair and makes removal fast since you don't need to rinse out the head often at all. OG Leaf (3): Discontinued This guy is the real stare for me. The low angle on this blade setup makes head shaving a dream. No cuts, no nicks, just a nice consistent, intuitive shave. The blade changes are easy, though not as slick as the Leaf 2. The ergonomics are good, though again the Leaf 2 is better, more chunky. Ultimately the cut quality is just so good, I keep

My perfect facial shaver!!

Some time ago, I got the chance to review The Twig, which is this razor's more mellow sibling. I really liked The Twig, and it's spearheaded a venture into trying many different razors. The Twig had always been my go-to staple though, until I got an aggressive butterfly razor from ZOMCHI. I like how easily I can shave my thick stubble down smooth with that razor, but I missed the balanced feel of The Twig. I looked up Leaf's razors here and saw this Thorn and how it's a more aggressive razor than The Twig. Well, Prime Day came up earlier this year and I got this Thorn and the flagship Leaf razor on sale! These two razors have become my dream team! You see, this venture has also seen me grow my beard, so now I only shave my cheeks, throat and neck, in addition to my head. The Leaf three blade razor works wonderfully on my head, but I can't let it near my beard; It will grab and yank my beard hair! That's where this Thorn comes into play. For a smooth shave, I can literally put on some cream or shave soap, and shave against the grain with this Thorn razor and call it good! For a super smooth shave, I can shave with the grain, then against it. The Thorn's small, slim head makes hedging up my beard easy- far easier than using a butterfly razor! While the Leaf's pivoting three bladed head makes for an easier head shave, I'm still able to easily shave my head using The Thorn! Since The Thorn is more aggressive, I get a much cleaner shave on my head compared to using The Twig! It's nice to have that option should I ever run low on blades and not have enough on hand to fully load up The Leaf. Despite The Thorn's aggressive stance, I've yet to badly cut myself with it! I'm sure I will one day, but it'll be because I'm in a careless hurry, not due to any fault of this razor. Again, I've got thick hair with inconsistent grain, and The Thorn makes shaving it down smoothly a breeze. If I ever need a touch up, I can use my more gentle Twig. Somewhat of a shaving expert here, hear me out...

Saw some people in reviews that sliced their face while shaving. There's one important thing you need to know: this razor is using old-school razor blades, unlike cartridge razors, which come with their own blades already built into the cartridge. The thing is, the cheapest razor blade out there is roughly 10x sharper than those blades in cartridges. Because of that, you get a super smooth shave, less irritation, fewer razor bumps, and fewer ingrown hairs. But that sharpness comes with its con, it can cut you open. Therefore, you need to be careful. Thorn razor is easier to use than DE razors because of its angle, but that doesn’t make it safe, it just makes it safer. You can't just pick it up and start shaving recklessly. Few tips to make your shave much more safer and even enjoyable: - Never apply pressure. This is not a cartridge razor, you don't need to push the razor to your face. If you feel like it's not cutting, that means you're holding the razor incorrectly. Adjust your angle accordingly. - Don't use cheap shaving foams / gels. Invest in a good quality shaving soap or cream. If you have thick beard, buy some pre-shave. - Your razor blade of choice is 50% of the quality of your shave. Don't go cheap, buy a sample pack and experience with different blades. Now here are some stuff I didn't like. Thorn supposed to be medium compared to its little brother, Twig, but even with a Feather blade, it's mild. I had to use my safety razor at the end to clean up properly. Its angle makes it great for a head shave, but for my beard, I'll stick to my DE. Overall, I recommend this to people who are too scared to use safety razors or people who want something a bit easier to use for a head shave.

Great razor, so-so blades…

I have a few more expensive razors, but wanted a daily driver and travel razor that wouldn’t break the bank so I took a chance and ordered the Thorn. I tend to like a bit of feedback, not too aggressive an angle mind you, but definitely a tactile sense to keep a close shave. I’m glad I ordered the Thorn instead of the Twig which is supposedly much milder. I wouldn’t want to go any milder than the Thorn for myself to be honest. I’m happy with the razor and performance overall. If I had to find a minor nitpick it would be the blades it came with. They are a bit too mild for my courser facial hair, so initially I wasn’t exactly enamored with the results until I used some more aggressive Feather blades. I can't fault the manufacturer for their blade selection though. Im sure they had to pick a milder blade for the best widespread use amongst their customers. With the Feather blades, it’s now a lean mean driving machine, and can easily handle my Neanderthal like 5 O’clock shadows. I’m very glad I purchased this one. Recommended!

Short handle, slippery grip

Trying move away from Gillette Mach3 razors because they have become ridiculously expensive. This razor is decent replacement but I have issues with it. 1. Handle is short, stubby and heavy since its prey much solid steel. Weight is not a big issue, I just wish it was longer. I don’t understand the point of having a short stubby handle. 2. Grip. The handle has sections of smooth metal or straight grooves which it hard to grip when wet and slippery with water and shaving cream. The grip should be crosshatched pattern so you don’t have to worry about grip it so tight so that it won’t slip.
