No humidity control
Hi All, This product doesn’t work as it should. It only can control temperature and not humidity. I had many back and forth with the vendor directly and they had committed to refund or change it however radio silence for the last few weeks. So looks like I am stuck with a product which doesn’t work.
Ruined all my cigars.
I did everything according to the manual. Its not my first electric humidor. All my cigars dried out within few days despite having high humidity. The air is terrible and its a disaster to control. Such a waste.
Best humidor I’ve owned
I love this product. I live in dry Phoenix, Az and getting a humidor that will hold humidity is hard, and even harder to keep it cool in the summers. This humidor solved all those problems. I throw 2-3 320g Boveda packs in there (I use the 75% ones since it’s so dry here, but you can probably use the 72% if you don’t live in dry climates) and it hold my humidity level perfectly and hold the temp perfectly. I might add some more led strip lights to it eventually since the tiny light at the top only lights the top part. Other than that it’s great. Owe and make sure to season it first. I wiped down all the wood with distilled water and left a container of distilled water in there for 24-48 hours to season it.
Don’t order it if you are in Saudi Arabia
I chatted with Amazon.sa customer service before ordering and clearly asked if it will be modified to come in 220v instead of 110v and he assured that as long as I ordered it from Amazon.sa; it will be adjusted to 220v and I don’t have to worry, I repeated that I have no time for returns process and he said it will come in 220v. It was delivered and I started the seasoning process and luckily I followed the instructions of not plugging it in for 24hrs and then I decided to check the power label at the back and to my surprise, it says 110v! Total disrespect for the customer and his time.. not that I’ll prepare it for a return, but it will be my last order from Amazon after more than a decade of giving them my business.
Doesn’t do what it’s supposed to
We followed the instructions to the T. Worked for the second week (we guessed first week was settling in period). Doesn’t hold either humidity or temperature. Absolute waste of money.
Know what you're buying
Hi folks, I wanted to provide some insight for anyone buying this unit. I did alot of research before buying it and a few things never came up that I want to share. The construction is good so don't worry about anyone complaining about it. First, it does make noise. The fan always works and it's enough to notice. So if you're sensitive to noise you won't like it. I have one of the cheaper 150 wine fridge humidors and you can't hear it. This one you will notice. Second, any thermoelectric unit draws air from outside so that means that if it's colder than what you have it set at in the room, the unit will always be cooler than what you set it at. Also, when the cooling is "off" it's still cooling to a certain level (the voltage is cut but doesn't stop the cooling unit). Some people also complain about high humidity and condensation and that's because of the ambiant air. The fan always pulls air from outside so if you have that high humidity issues, get a dehumidifier. If it's too hot outside then you'll get condensation. These humisors are a total different animal from the sealed wooden units.
The great solution
I hate to depend on anything in life, however, I will say this electric humidor is the best thing out. I have cigars that are no longer made now for about 5 years and they are still as fresh as new, they don't crack and an answer to the investment of how to secure expensive cigars and hold on to them for an indefinite period of time. This is one of the best electronic purchases I've made.
