Walter Anderson
Top performance mobile router at a very good price.
This is a fully featured router that is also a WiFi 7 access point and has its own Wide Area Network (WAN) interface through a 5G modem built into the device. And it’s genuinely awèsome. The hardest thing about the setup is finding the tiny cutout on the backplate to hook your fingernail in and pop the cover off. Everything else is just following the setup wizard on the screen and you’re away. I’m using it with a 3 5G physical SIM card and while my results definitely vary with location, time of day and the weather, I’m pulling down over 400Mbps on the outskirts of Barnsley. The upload is nothing like that, and I believe that is a limitation of the ISP rather than the device itself. It fits into a neat little hard-shell case for transport and in day-to-day use I’m seeing about 7 hours of battery life under near-constant internet traffic. It’s not cheap, but compare the price to any other WiFi 7 5G router with a 2.5Gbps LAN port and a full colour display and it looks like excellent value. Add in the small size and battery power source and for me, it’s a real winner.
