Great DAC, stupid hardware choices
I Love the audio quality of this device. But, it isn’t a full replacement for multiple pieces of equipment as I’d assumed: it’s only running g airplay 1, not 2! Original airplay is garbage and is unusable in a modern context if you’re ever used airplay 2. It’s just a Bluetooth speaker at that point. Considering returning for this reason, and my Wiim pro, with AirPlay 2, has weird audio cut out issues when I try running anything from it to the FIIO; it’ll vacillate between audio setting a automatically, and the audio cuts out for a second every time it does so. Completely jarring and unusable. So, if you use it as Only an excellent DAC where you’re manually switching audio source, it’s great if you’re trying to integrate it into a smart system, total failure. Serious, put AirPlay 2 on this thing and it’s an instant five stars.
