Timex MK-1 watch
This Timex MK-1 watch was a really fine watch purchase... One finally showed up here on Amazon, and I'm glad I noticed it... It is a great looking watch and so far after a week, perfect time keeping... The 36mm is the ideal size for a field watch and an uncluttered dial that makes it easy to read the time... This Timex MK-1, is as good as any field watch made in my opinion.
Crown came off in my hand while setting it for the first time. Severely disappointed.
Timex should be ashamed of themselves for creating this "American" watch with a Chinese movement. I literally took it out of the box, wound it, then pulled the crown out to set it, AND THE CROWN CAME OFF IN MY HAND!! And before anyone suggests I do not know how to handle a mechanical watch, I own many mechanical watches worth much more than this Chinese embarrassment, including a couple of Sea-Gull watches (which the Timex's movement is made by). I was able to re-insert the crown. However, when setting the time (clicking the crown fully in), the movement does not reliably start back up. This is a complete waste of time and money. Until Timex learns to make their own movements again (which won't happen because they are like every other American company, more concerned with profit than quality), I won't be buying another Timex. I've owned many Timex watches over the past four decades, but this is the worst. My father's Timex watches from the 1960s and 1970s still work reliably. Timex needs to make the composite "Camper" with a mechanical handwinding movement and sell it for the $20 it's worth, just like the one I had throughout the 1980s. It worked, was reasonably reliable and accurate, and when it broke, get another one. If they could do it then with a Taiwanese or Philippine movement, they can do it now. Sea-Gull movements can be quite good. I own two other Sea-Gull watches and they are quite good. So, I had high hopes for this one. The movement in this Timex Mk1 36mm, is of poor quality and poorly assembled, bargain basement bin reject no doubt. Until Timex starts making watches with American made movements (or Swiss), they will never be taken seriously with their Chinese mechanical watches. Come on Timex, you can do better. The founders of the Waterbury Watch Company are rolling in their graves. Save your money and buy a Hamilton or a CWC.

Looks good. The strap is not that good of a material but the watch looks good enough that I can ignore the strap material.
Great watch great size
Excellent watch. Love everything about it. I prefer smaller watches they are so much more comfortable. I have an 7 inch wrist and love how this fits. After 3 days it's only 3 seconds fast.
