Great light diffusion
Exactly what I needed! The light is perfectly diffused so it doesn’t bother my eyes during back to back meetings
Geared to new customers
As a new release, the Key Light Air Mk2 is perfectly serviceable, but owners of previous Key Light models will find few meaningful improvements beyond the more accessible front‑facing controls. The USB‑C port also feels underutilised, and its placement can interfere with the central rear mounting point, which limits flexibility when positioning the light. The stand represents a noticeable step down from earlier versions. Its clamp struggles to grip desks with a support bar, something the previous stand handled without issue. The slight bend at the top is a pleasant detail, though largely redundant given the existing ball joint. Mounting the light on the lower connection can also cause the unit to swing due to its weight, making the setup feel less stable than before. Overall, the Key Light Air Mk2 feels like a modest refresh rather than a meaningful evolution of the product line. It remains a capable light, but the design compromises and lack of functional improvements make it difficult to recommend as an upgrade for existing owners. For newcomers, it will perform well enough, yet those familiar with earlier models may find themselves wishing Elgato had pushed the hardware a little further. In the end, I chose to return the unit due to the security‑sealed box showing signs of tampering and the product itself exhibiting minor wear. While this may have been an isolated issue, it reinforced my sense that the Mk2 doesn’t offer enough improvement to justify keeping it, particularly when the build and packaging quality failed to meet the standard set by earlier Key Light models.
Luce TOP
Did they user test this at all
The light itself is fine but the setup is awful. My box had a missing piece so I couldn’t even mount it. If you want to switch the wifi it’s paired on you have to keep resetting it for it to work with the app. The reset button is no longer reachable and I can’t reset anymore so I’m stuck with 1 wifi setting. I might not use the Bluetooth functionality if it’s this finicky
