Nice with adapters
Feels like the best package for open back headphones. Bought it for my podcast. Loved that is has adapters for all jacks and cables the can detach. Not wireless charging and not usb powered. And the wires are long enough
Might just be one of my main headphones forever.
I've gotten this around a year ago, no problem came with the headphone thankfully ! the wire became kind of tangled which was annoying, but you can easily fix it simply by holding the wire in the air and allowing it to spin. A dac is not really required for the headphone, but would really improve how loud the headphones can become, and you would notice a huge change in the sound quality depending on the soundcard on your device.
Great sound for a fair price
Headphones, like most most things, have no literal price ceiling, but they do have a practical one, for regular mortals; it's somewhere around the price of this headphone. Sennheiser has been at this game for years, and they know what they're doing. Nothing is accidental, nothing is left to chance, nothing is "not quite right". From the connector, to the cable, the cup shape and size, padding, headband. Everything feels right. I appreciate the velour/cloth padding, after owning several leatherette headphones previously. It's easy to keep clean, it's comfortable, it breathes well, things don't get sweaty. You can wear these for hours at a time. Not being an audio engineer, I can't speak authoritatively about the sound quality, but it sounds just fine for me. Listening to compressed sound sources is not a big deal these days, players are really good at processing audio resampled and compressed 3 different ways to sound acceptable on 1000W stereo systems. Uncompressed/mixed audio, such as from video games or Blu Rays, sounds very good and clean and there's a good amount of bass. These are open headphones, so don't expect much insulation or dampening of outside noise. There's not really any, and in fact, some frequencies will be amplified inside the cans beyond what you could hear with the headphones off. While that's probably the only negative... back in the real world, closed headphones are heavier and have less ventilation. So, pick your devil. Overall, if you can find these headphones on sale, definitely push that button. The 5-series from Sennheiser are legendary in any variety. Long term edit: 1.5 years in, and nothing's really changed. The headphones still look great, even after probably a couple thousand hours of use. The cable and armor aren't wearing or stiffening, the headband fake leather is still looking like new. After some closer listening comparisons, I'd say the sound is tuned a bit towards the low end, so if you do lots of classical music you might hav

dobre niemieckie granie, bez fajerwerków, równe i rzetelne :)
pierwsze wrażenie - świetne wyważone granie bez fajerwerków. Jest bas i jest czysta góra ale dość łagodna dla ucha, nie to co np philips Fidelio czy Audio Technica, które dają po uszach aż leci krew :) Słuchawki bardzo solidne i masywne, wcale nie są filigranowe ani tanio-plastikowe jak piszą inni recenzenci. Brzmienie ma taką estetykę Sennhisera, nie jest ocieplone, nie jest faworyzujące i nie stosuje tanich sztuczek ery XBass i ANC. Zdecydowanie nabierają klasy podpięte do wzmacniacza słuchawkowego ( u mnie ifi hip dac 2). Podobno wygrzane grają jeszcze lepiej, więc odniosę się do tego za kilkanaście dni. Póki co jest bardzo dobrze, a słuchawki nie dość że śliczne to grają zacnie.
Cercavo proprio un paio di cuffie così
Ho acquistato queste cuffie per “sostituire” le mie Grado MS1 su alcuni generi di musica in cui queste ultime non mi soddisfano al 100%. Le Grado sono fantastiche e le trovo perfette per tanti generi musicali, ma rock duro, metal, grunge e generi simili, li soffrono e tendono a “impastare” un po’ la scena. Cercavo quindi delle alternative e avevo acquisto le Fidelio X2 della Philips ma erano semmai ancora meno adatte delle MS1 e anzi, rispetto a quelle anche peggiori nei generi in cui le MS1 (per i miei gusti) sono imbattibili. Parliamo naturalmente di cuffie “fascia media” e quindi senza pretese esagerate, perciò mi sono detto: perché no una Sennheiser? Così ho preso queste. E me ne sono innamorato. Non solo vanno bene (più bene delle MS1) con quei generi lì, ma non sfigurano nemmeno col resto, anzi. Hanno una limpidezza di suono elevatissima, per quanto inferiore alle MS1 (che hanno toni medi e alti incredibili), ma sono più corpose, con bassi cristallini, rotondi, presenti ma mai invadenti. Le voci a volte, soprattutto con alcuni pezzi, restano indietro e queste Hd599 soffrono un po’, ma è uno scotto che sono ben contento di pagare, visto il confort estremo (e in questo alle Grado danno 8 giri) e l’ampia scena che comunque regalano. Sono cuffie che fanno L’occhiolino ai piani superiori, a quelli dove bisogna fare un mutuo per una cuffia. Al prezzo di vendita a cui le ho prese (136€), sono davvero una scelta azzeccata. Ho letto di offerte a 100€… beh a quel prezzo non lasciatevele scappare per nessuna ragione al mondo, perché sarebbe un affare irrinunciabile. Sfido chiunque a trovare di meglio a quella cifra. E lo dico con convinzione estrema. In conclusione posso solo dire che sono veramente felice di aver scelto Sennheiser, che si, d’accordo non sarà più la Sennheiser di una volta come dice qualcuno (perché produce in Cina? Bah, tutti lo fanno…), ma cosa si può volere di più da una cuffia nel 2022 a queste cifre? Davvero, queste cuffie sono assolutamente incriti
Fantastic for Audiophiles
Super comfy can wear all day. I mean all week! Open back means I can listen all day. No worries about the ears. I also found the open back fine outside on quietish walks, did not need to switch to my ANC earbuds. Sound quality is excellent. You will need a good EQ, most important is amp settings to really bring out the over ear sound fullness. With HD source music, and a 32 bit usb-c adaptor I could hear great detail, I was pleasantly surprised. Lovely richness from bass into the mids after adjusting levels. ( Not a Bass heavy set, would of bought Bose if I wanted that) As a reference I have Marshall, Harmon Kardon, Boss, etc... Happy man here...
