Love them
Love them best noise cancelation but cant sweat heavy in them or they will break.... I broke a pair two years ago from heavy sweating!!!!

Pleased but now displeased
Great headphones but all of a sudden it won’t charge and I’ve spent hours browsing for a solution to this issue. Battery is low and I tried several online suggestions but not working. I’m not happy.
Very happy with it most of the time. Occasional crashes are annoying.
Overall I am very pleased with these headphones. The noise cancellation works well and sounds are very clear. I can actually tell the difference on these headphones between mp3 and FLAC (lossless) music files. The audio quality on calls is good and it communicates well, most of the time, with my Pixel 7 to handle calls and audio apps. Unfortunately, maybe once a week or so, the headphones crash. When this happens the audio stops and noise cancellation stops. Power cycling the headphones gets everything working again, but it's annoying. One enhancement I'd like to see is support for more than two input devices at the same time. I have my phone and two laptops and I have to keep switching the headset connection between the two laptops, which is tedious. Bluetooth supports more simultaneous devices, so it'd be good to see more connections in future WH-1000XM versions.
Bland, no cushion, tight, uncomfortable, small ear cups
When I saw these came in blue, I was excited. My brother owns an older pair and loves his. Then they came in. The cushion around the ear seems to effectively disappear when you wear them. I even felt the plastic slightly digging into my skull because of it. Unfortunately, they have a VERY short sensor in the left ear cup, so if you buy thicker earpads, you lose all swipe control ability as the headphones dont register that theyre being worn. The ANC was really good. Probably the best thing about them. The sound stage fell a bit flat for me. They werent very impressive and listening to music/movies didnt really blow me away as I expected them to. They became quite uncomfortable after a relatively short time wearing them. The earcups feel tiny. They always rubbed against me the wrong way, coupled with the lack of cushion, they caused literal irritation on my ears. Actual red irritation that I needed to stop wearing them completely and put a cream on them. After a day and a half or so, the irritation went away but every time I tried to wear them it came back.
Better than competitors
I did a lot of research on different headphones and bought a new pair of Beats originally as a place holder for the Apple Max's. Ended up hating how tinny the audio sounded compared to my favorite headphones I needed to replace due to wear and tear - Microsoft Surface Headphones. My audiophile friend used this website that breaks down and compares how the audio is on different headphones and these M5's were very close to the Microsoft headphones. I think the M5's top Apple/Beats by far. It has more features than the Beats and doesn't have the design flaws of feeling heavy/falling off your head as the Max's. Bought protective silicone pads off Amazon to put on the over-the-ear cushions so it won't get damaged from moisture while wearing during workouts at the gym. I love these! Would recommend purchasing over other leading brands.
