Disappointing -- Do Not Recommend
This is a 3rd party product with reportedly better specs and performance than the equivalent DJI product. I'm disappointed with it and do not recommend it. In fact, I've ordered another (different) product with the intent of not using this one. I don't like the way it works. I expected the Pocket 3 would draw power from the handle before drawing down its own limited battery. But the priority of the battery handle seems to be topping up the Pocket 3 battery. When using the Pocket 3 that unit's battery level dropped and the battery handle battery level was unchanged (up to a point -- see below). When the Pocket 3 was turned off the battery handle kicked in to recharge the Pocket 3 battery. That sequence doesn't make sense to me. The good news is the Pocket 3 battery recharges very fast. The bad news is the battery handle doesn't. The attached photos shows it took the battery handle 80 mins to charge from 46% to 100% – it's as slow as molasses. Based on using it, this is the way it works -- the Pocket 3 camera uses its own battery up to a certain level (seems to be 80%); at that point power is drawn from the battery handle; when the Pocket 3 is turned off its internal battery is fast-charged from the handle; the handle can then be charged but that is a slow process. Also note that because the priority is to charge the Pocket 3 battery, the handle when attached, falls down from 100% to a lower level alarmingly fast. I can't explain that as the Pocket 3 remains off and I find it hard to believe its battery is discharging. But that's what I observed. I'm not happy with this purchase and I wanted to return it. However, it's not eligible for returns unless it's faulty, presumably because of battery restrictions on air freight. I don't recommend this product. I can't give it 1 star because it does actually work but it doesn't work the way I think it should and it's slow to charge.
