Great thermal imaging technology available at a fraction of the price.

WOW! AMAZING! I can't believe that technology of this quality is available today at this price. I purchased a small thermal scope a little over ten years ago for $700 and it was nowhere near as advanced as this is. If it works for only two years, I will have gotten much more than my money's worth, I see no reason for it not to last longer. The safety factor is obvious, being able to see in low or no light and have it point out objects and give distances is priceless. It is very easy to put together, but you must pay attention to the directions. I really can't think of a downside that is worth mentioning. I just wish, if it could be powered off of standard USB-C, that it would give you that option, though it may actually need the 12v connection. It comes with an adhesive mount and I would have liked a dual possibility of choosing either suction to the windshield or adhesive to the dash. That being said, something like this would cost thousands not so long ago. I remember when this would be top secret military technology that you wouldn't be allowed to buy from my days working at Ft. Belvoir in the 1990s.

Had the hood up and display on while working inside. It spotted a plane 35000 feet up!!!

I just deleted my negative review I posted a couple months ago and I’ll tell you why. READ the directions about adjusting the mounting angle for the camera!! It’s been updated and is clear. It’s a screw and bolt BUT with a spline or ribs. Have to fit into grooves. Wasn’t clear and I snapped it. Cold and freezing I wrote a greatly unhappy review. Well Must tell you this has been the most amazing CS I’ve seen in year. Also left a few grumpy old man messages on their FB company site about the mount. They have done nothing but “hand hold me” as soon as I explained my frustration. They sent the new part air mail. They have asked about if I mounted it and any issues. Explained I didn’t get a chance because in am the ice and snow had a bad fall and injury. They have written to check in on me from time to time. Yesterday again to see how I’m healing and to tell me about a great software update. I’m also a first responder in a city and think these would be outstanding on select units various tasks. Enough with customer service. It’s outstanding. If you get a little lost. Jump onto social media as I did with FB. Drop them a note with your problem. Believe me they will help. About the product. Being a resourceful first responder fixed the mount with duct tape. Good enough. lol. Installed and used the unit from my wildlife habitat in maine to my other home in NYC. Not prevented an accident yet but it surly has a great chance of it. Mounted mine in my line of site like an hud and the display is slender so I can get it flush to the top of the dash. It shows almost everything. A person behind a van going to step into the road no.. can’t see thru metal or glass. But you might see them on the sidewalk as you approach. This will recognize a human and outline in a red box. So you know someone might just walk out. Great for seeing moving deer on the sides of the highway at night. They all cross roads! It's "OK" but . .. . . read this

I had previously hit a deer and totaled a 2020 Ram Promaster so when I bought my new van (2026 Ford Transit AWD) a few months ago I decided to try to do something about hitting deer in the future. If you put a deer/cattle guard on the van you could bend the frame instead of ruining the front end body parts and the radiator. Anyhow, I bought this camera. The thing is way too sensitive for daytime use. I have mine mounted on the back of the front hood, not in the grill. There are a lot of false alarms due to the heat rising off of the hood. This thing is made for nighttime driving. That said, it's not picking up the deer that are on the sides of the roads waiting to jump out in front of you. It should be able to alert us when they are a few feet off the road at least. If they are in the road the camera will alert you. It's good as a general dashcam anyhow. Good on the road when no one else is on the road. Make sure to turn off the vehicle alert. You just need the animal/pedestrian alert. You can silence it so during the day you can run it as a dashcam, otherwise every bale of hay will set it off. Now, when I turned off the Interstate 80 and headed up to Interstate 90 in Wyoming, I saw about 150 deer and 150 antelope. No amount of cameras or deer/cattle guards are going to help you when it's like that. It's the luck of the draw. But at least you can have this camera and play with your electronics which gives you some sense of security. Hope this helps. Would I buy it again knowing what I know? If you have the money it's a nice addition. Better than nothing. I'm wondering if I should get the deer/cattle guard. Might really destroy the van if I hit a deer.
