KJ Crockett
great budget player!
(psa: this initial review was made a few days after use. the part after this is about a month of use!) came pretty quick but you need to pay attention to the shipping window! i like this player. love that it has an external sd slot, and love that it has bluetooth capabilities. audio quality is great and many y1 themes work with this. i've yet to install rockbox as i can't find an approved one to get yet. love love love this player heads up-- no more fm radio! it's been replaced with e-book. also, you can switch to viewing song titles through music settings, but on 'now playing' it will always display the file name. only issue i've had. battery life is long as long as you're not constantly using bluetooth and completely power off device when not in use. (1 MONTH LATER) still going pretty strong a month later! bluetooth: will usually automatically hookup to my speakers which is great, but i have to keep manually doing it in my car. videos: one issue i do have is running higher quality videos (i cannot run 1080p blu-ray rips of supernatural). the whole video will glitch through, both audio and video. the files do seem to still be intact on the sd card though which is great. battery life: pretty good! i can run it for a week (~6-8 hrs/day) without having to recharge. i also like the timed shut-off feature so i can use it to help fall asleep. rockbox: a rockbox update recently came out for the y2, and i tried it but will wait for a new version that is more stable & functional :) file transfers: speeds are pretty quick! i can get around 5gb done in 2-3 minutes. screen: i would recommend getting a screen protector if you can. i decided to forgo it and my screen is pretty scratched up with constant use.
