Comfortable but ruins sound signature.
If you do not have the original foam sheets that line the earcup, then using this with them will be comfortable but the sound is tinny. The higher frequencies are overpowering and the sound is not balanced anymore. Im no audiophile, but i can tell you it sounds off.
Quality
These have exceeded my expectations and given my trusty old ATH-M30s new life. Glad I ordered two pairs.
Impressive for the price
I'm really surprised how nicely they packed the item for the price, great job! I got this for my 5+ year old Ath m50, old cups were worn out so this is definitely a huge improvement, unfortunately I don't recall how it sounded with the stock pads when it was brand new but I love the comfort and sound now. It fits perfectly and looks quite good on it. FOR THE PRICE, HUGELY RECOMMENDED

Muy cómodas, gran compra
Cuando compré mis Audio Technica M50X me parecieron muy incómodos, venía de unos Beyerdinamic extra placenteros y me quedé disgustado. Entonces busqué info especializada y encontré que recomendaban encarecidamente cambiar las almohadillas de los mismos, ya que las que vienen de serie son incómodas. Gran acierto, compré estas almohadillas de repuesto y no puedo ahora estar más contento con mis M50X. Estas almohadillas tienen la abertura auricular más grande y de esa forma las orejas quedan dentro más fácilmente, también son unos milímetros más gruesas. El material es piel sintética y espuma barata, pero el efecto final es muy bueno, el sonido no se ve afectado y definitivamente estas almohadillas han dado vida de nuevo a mis M50X. Cuando yo las compré solo estaban en marrón, pero aún así no quedan del todo mal. Si mi comentario te ha sido útil, vota ;)
If you own the ATH-M50X by Audio Technica, you need to buy those
So you love your trusty pair of M50Xs. After all, they're the most common industry standard for a reason, and as a sound engineer, I see those thing literally everywhere - don't forget to put a sticker on yours or something otherwise you might very well end up mixing up your pair with someone else's! For 250 CAD, those cans are truly legendary. From tracking to mixing live or in your bedroom, nothing stop them, and they're so widely used that one can safely assume just about any recent material that come out have been monitored on those at one point or another. Great! What more do you want? Well, there's the thing : the M50x sucks at one thing : They're not confortable. They squeeze your ears with the tiny little cheapo pads that AT decided to put on there. So, after so many times getting my ears violated but those stiff, thin, cheap pads, I decided I had enough. I was ready to break the bank when I just had a light bulb popping on : what if you could simply change the pads themselves instead of buying a whole new pair...?? For so many years, I've heard people talking about headphones confort issues, and how this model is better than this other one, and how this one's great sounding but uncomfortable... Forget all this. From now on, I will put whatever "protein leather" pads are on every single pair of headphones I own. They are *that* good. I do not understand how this company doesn't have every contract for premium headphones brands in the world. Mark my words, I spend a whole lot more time than most with a lot of cans, and nothing is quite like it. It's like I don't even have anything on. The sound is untouched, and the seal is better, while your ears feel *less* squeezed! The best 13 bucks I've ever spent! Careful : after this experience, you might trash you earbuds or IEMs in the nearest gutter, for the inconfort will be more than likely unbearable after a minute or two. Buy those things. Spitzenartikel: sehr gut verarbeitet, passgenau, ausgesprochen angenehm auf der Haut. Und endlich keine klanglichen Verfärbungen mehr wie bei anderen Ohrpolstern. So machen mir meine Audio-Technica KH wieder Spaß! Update nach 2 Jahren: Leider zerbröseln die Polster nach 2 Jahren moderaten Gebrauchs bereits. Das hatte ich mir doch etwas anders vorgestellt.
