This is a fantastic headset. The Sennheiser heritage is clear in the quality of the components, build and audio. If you can get hold of a GSX 1000 to go with it, you'll never find a better PC audio solution.
Comfortable Wired Sound That Holds Up for Long Sessions – DROP PC38X
I picked up the DROP PC38X because I was tired of closed-back headsets cooking my ears during four- or five-hour gaming nights and wanted something with a clearer mic for Discord calls with the group. I expected solid open-back sound, decent comfort from the velour pads, and a usable boom mic that wouldn’t sound like a tin can. It mostly delivered on those points without any big surprises. Right out of the box the headset feels light, which is a plus when you’re wearing it for a while. The velour earpads stay cooler than the usual leatherette ones and don’t make my ears sweat as much during longer sessions. Clamp force started a bit firm on my head but loosened up after a couple days. I can wear these through a full evening of single-player games or multiplayer without that usual hot-spot pressure. Sound-wise the open-back design gives a wider stage than most closed gaming headsets I’ve used. Footsteps and environmental cues in games come across with more space, and music or movie audio feels less boxed-in. Bass is present but not heavy or boomy—there’s a noticeable roll-off on the deepest stuff—so if you’re after big thumps this isn’t the one. The mic is clear enough that teammates say they can understand me fine, and the flip-to-mute works without hunting for a button. It’s not studio-level and can pick up some plosives if you’re close, but for a headset boom it’s practical for voice chat and the occasional work call when the room is quiet. Compatibility is straightforward—plugs into PC, PS5, Xbox, Switch, or phone with the 3.5 mm jack and needs no extra software. On the downside, the open design means sound leaks out, so anyone nearby will hear your game or music at normal volumes. You also hear more of the room around you, which is fine at home but not ideal if you need isolation. Build is mostly plastic and feels a little lighter than the price might suggest. The cable is fixed and can be a touch stiff depending on how your setup is arranged. No wireless option
Excellent headset and mic
Old model but quality is excellent both headset and microphone. Especially the microphoe. The other part can hear you loud and clear. Very easy to drive too. Only cons if you can call it that is no bluetooth which I find is a pain compatibility wise and there is no noise cancellation. So if your background is noisy especially with people talking, due to the excellet microphone, it will pick up everything clearly. So recommended to use in a less noisy room or space. Oh yes, the mic is on the left of your face instead of the usual right which some might find irritating.
