Minimal, secure, perfect for my needs.

This is such a perfect product for me. I tried the small rig, but there are five screws involved with taking it on and off. Then I tried the falcam half cage but with a single point of contact the camera spins on the quick release plate also, the standoff are enormous. The Yazuo ingeniously only has two points of contact which are very easily removed so you can take the cage off anytime. This keeps the cage from spinning. The left side wall of the cage is extremely close to the Io section. This may cause problems for some people, but for me, it worked out fine. The black product does not have all those white squiggly lines on it, which is great. They should update the photos because when I bought it the only reason I bought it was because someone in the comment said the photos were inaccurate.

Top handle hole not 3/8 for arri locating handle

Looks to be well made but could not use due to not having 3/8 center hole for top handle. It just has 1/4 20 hole in the middle of locating pin holes.

Great protection for your investment that also adds additional functionality!

This YANZUO cage has turned my Canon R8 into a far more versatile, protected, and production‑ready tool while still staying compact enough for everyday carry, so it easily earns a 5‑star rating from me. Build quality and design The cage is machined from 6061 aluminum with an anodized finish, and it feels both rigid and lightweight in the hand, adding protection without making the R8 feel front‑heavy or bulky. The titanium color looks premium and blends nicely with the camera body, so it doesn’t scream “rig” the way some larger cages do. Edges around the grip and control areas are smooth and well‑finished, so there are no hot spots when shooting handheld for extended periods. Fit, access, and protection Fit on the R8 is excellent: the 1:1 design keeps the body from shifting, and the two‑point locking system (bottom and side) eliminates any flex or wobble when you’re mounting heavier accessories. All critical access points remain fully usable, including the battery door, ports, and top dials, so you don’t have to partially remove the cage just to swap a battery or plug in HDMI/USB. For travel, events, and documentary work, the cage adds a reassuring layer of protection against bumps and scrapes without getting in the way of normal stills shooting. Modular full‑cage / half‑cage flexibility One of the standout features is the modular design: you can run it as a full protective cage or quickly convert it into a lighter half‑cage/baseplate using the included thumb screws. This makes it easy to tailor the rig to the job—full cage for more complex video setups, or a stripped‑down configuration when you’re prioritizing gimbal balance or light travel. Very Minimalistic Cage. (Comofrtable)

Solid minimalistic cage! Ive used Sony, Canon and Nikon and this Canon R8 cage is one of the most minimalistic ive seen , the build is very nice and i still feel like the cage is adequate protection while providing more mount points. It has not only one 1/4 20 mount on the bottom middle but another that connects or wedges then locks into the left side strap loop. having 2 points allows the camera to shift less and retain its position. when i say minimalistic, i mean in terms of the feel, you can grip very comfortably still this is important if you are primarily a photographer because you don't want a cage getting in the way of dials or grip. it is also adequate enough for video. comes with a nice extra cold shoe mount as well. have used at multiple events so far and everything has been going well. no issue attaching a tripod and now with the cage i can connect this camera vertically also to the tripod with ease.
