First impressions
So I haven't used these extensively yet. I tried them out a bit to see how they work. They sit firmly on the ears but soft enough to not hurt, very padded like memory foam. Again, I haven't used it long enough but that was the impression I got after putting them on. They do drown out outside noise such as my loud fan, there is an ambient feature in case you actually want to pay attention to your surroundings and not get hit by a car. It does work, the volume lowers very noticeably and you are able to hear my loud fan again. I would have to test this out in a louder location but hey, Rona so 🤷. They are very bendable which is a plus for me to be able to fit in my bag. The headband part has a small softer layer underneath to not hurt the top of your head and each ear is designated R & L. The adjustable headband piece seems to move too easily to stay in place but once on your head, it isn't a problem. There are also numbered tick marks on the adjustable exposed metal to not keep you guessing whether each side is extended evenly so that's a plus. Sound is nice and crisp. At the loudest level it can almost hurt my ears which is honestly what I want when I'm really feeling my music. I also appreciate the toggle button for volume, instead of two different buttons to increase & decrease volume. Makes it easier to know which one I'm selecting. Sometimes, depending on the track, the bass can over power the vocals but I'm fine with that and it only occurs with some songs, its not a disappointment, just something I wanted to point out. It could also depend on the source the music is coming from as well. The pause/play feature works almost perfectly but sometimes it does continue to play after taking them off to place on the table, not a big deal idc. It works perfectly when taking them off to place around your neck though. There is a 2-second delay. You can disable this feature as well, it's in the provided instructions booklet. Everything I was looking for
I spent a lot of time researching bluetooth headphones and looking for a clear front-runner; to no avail, since there seems to be no consensus on the best ones and what gets a five-star rating on one site, another reviewer utterly hates. I ultimately took a plunge on these for no other reason than that as an audio engineer I'm familiar with AKG and trust them to make good stuff. These are seriously so great. The ear pads are cushy and soft, and even though they don't have active noise cancellation technology, the mere fact of having the plush ear pads pressing onto my ears provides a fair amount of isolation. The headband is comfortable and adjustable, even for my giant head. The controls are straightforward and took very little time to become second nature. They fold up quite small for transport in the little bag they come with. Music sounds stunning on these, they have a rich full low end without having the kind of dumb overhyped bass response that some consumer headphones do. The mids and highs are clear, and overall they seem to reflect a pretty balanced representation of a sound source, without any odd peaks or exaggerations that I could detect. I listened to an album that I had painstakingly mixed myself (and was therefore intimately familiar with the sound of) and it sounded deep and full and accurate. Podcasts sound a little thinner in some cases, I'm guessing because the high quality headphones are shining a spotlight on the varying production quality different podcasts have. Some sound great on these and some sound a little weak and treble-y. I didn't notice this difference as much on my cheap earbuds before. As far as Bluetooth adaptability goes, they paired with my iPhone immediately and with hardly any effort on my part, and have never come un-paired. My desktop computer wasn't Bluetooth-capable so I had to add an adapter dongle, and that's occasionally given me some hiccups but nothing I couldn't sort out by turning the headphones off and then back on

Ridiculously oversimplified instructions
It took me three weeks and some very frustrating interactions with the "start guide" to figure out the way these are supposed to work. On the positive side it is very simple to pair the headphones with an iPhone and our Samsung smart TV. Simply turn the phones on and the device and they'll find each other. My problem was with the "ambient" setting. When activated the ambient setting freezes the volume control at a very low level. Figuring out how to turn ambient off was the problem. The directions are very simplistic, they do not explain what the functions actually do. It took some time of trial and error to find out how to turn ambient off. A little more detail in what the functions do and how to work them would have prevented me from almost returning the headphones before I decided to keep them and "figure it out". Now they sound good, are comfortable and lightweight, and work very well. They also sound good for a small (compact) headset.

Concerned But Powerless

Great purchase at this price point
I just got these and I have been listening to them for a few hours now. The squeezing my head issue I read about is not an issue for me and the headphones are not falling off when I do chores like laundry or washing dishes. I don't really plan to make phone calls with them so I can't comment on that. The sound is clear and balanced. The sound quality is definitely better with the wired connection rather than the blue tooth, but still highly listenable; I also think my bluetooth sources are a bit out of date. Also, all the electronic features are turned off when connecting by wire (i.e. not using bluetooth). But the features are super convenient especially the pausing the music when removing the headphones. ------------ Update I have used these at work for 8 days now. I wear them for at least 3 hours at a time with no discomfort. I charge them every 3-4 days for about 30 minutes to get them fully charged. There is more sound isolation than my previous set of headphones (Martin Logan) and the slight loss in resolution is more than worth the convenience of the Bluetooth. The bluetooth is also super reliable, but keep in mind I'm fairly stationary as I sit at my desk with my player at a fixed location.

Too unbalanced to stay on my head!
These are high quality over the ear headphones with great sound and microphone. Bluetooth and corded listening was excellent. I bought these to use with my guitar amp for practice and the headphones just would not stay put on my head as I looked down at the guitar strings. I was really disappointed because I really was not moving very much and just the slight tilt put these weighty ear pieces succumbing to gravity. Although I found the Ambient setting helpful to able to hear others while I practice I will shop for an over-the-ear model with better balance to stay in place while I practice.

The best on-ear headphones I've ever had
I was a little skeptical when I discovered these were on-ear, and not over-ear. I've been disappointed in the past with a pair of Sony headphones I've bought, and I've been spoiled by the level of comfort offered by my Steelseries over-ear headphones. When they arrived, I first noticed how clear and crisp the audio was. Then I immediately noticed that, per my suspicion, they weren't very comfortable. It took a lot of adjusting to get them to be tolerable, but I actually contemplated returning them and getting a pair of on-ear headphones instead. I'm glad I decided against that! It took a while, but the cushions around the ears softened up a bit and I've gotten used to them. They're actually quite comfortable compared to other on-ear headphones I've had, but more than that they're just really good. They sound great, they look great, the battery lasts forever, and you can even use them wired if you want to. For under $100, the AKG Y500 headphones will spoil you.

Best value for on ear headphones!
After a lot of research I decide to go with the Y500. I liked that they are under $100, had long battery life and have a good mic for video calls. I'm also a fan of the akg tuning and their sound profile. I was not interested in ANC as I have the bose QC20 which I use for travel. The Y500 have great sound isolation and they might make it in my next international trip since they told into a small size in their included travel pouch. Sound is great! I switched to the AAC codec in the note20 and it made a world of difference. They have great bass and clear, distinct highs. They are great for video calls and I get compliments on how clear the mic is. Battery is amazing and they can give you a week of moderate daily use without needing a charge. They have an included wired option for those times you don't have a charge or want maximum audio quality. They reach another level as a wired set. Comfortable to wear for long periods of time. I highly recommend!

Good
I would have gave 5 stars but ear pc is alittle smaller. Very loud. I purchased because my last pair broke after 6 yrs . Thought I got the same ones but didn't still happy but if your a bigger person or have bigger ears these might not work. For me I love them because I always need kid made stuff because I'm so small.

They work great.
I am really happy with these headphones. They sound great and they're quite comfortable. I wouldn't have been happy if I paid full price for them, but I bought them renewed for half price, and I got a terrific value.

Excelentes audífonos Samsung
Me encanto todo en verdad, se detiene la música al quitárselos, si los conectas a la PC y estas escuchando YouTube estos también se pausan al quitárselos. La pila enverdad que dura bastante no tienes que cargarlos cada hora o 2, he escuchado mi música por 4 días y no se le acabo la batería. La fidelidad es excelente,cómodos y por el precio vale la pena .Puedes escucharlos vía Bluetooth o con cable y funcionan super bien.

It's Good
I'm very pleased with my Y500. No issues with Bluetooth connection, controls are in the right place when you've figured it out and it packs away in a nice pouch when not in use. I believe a source device has some influence on the sound output and so far I'm very happy with what I get from either my mobile tablet, TV or hifi. Excellent, quality product.
