Mighty2 is a fantastic upgrade to iconic air purifier
The second generation of the perennial Wirecutter top pick for air purifiers is a worthy upgrade: while retaining the excellent air cleaning capabilities and high efficiency of the original, it manages to look more modern, provide more useful information to the user, and is quieter/more refined in every way. Rather than the original's shiny plastic surfaces, which were easy to scratch, the new version uses a very nice matte finish; combined with the sleek touch sensitive control panel on the top, everything about the unit looks and feels more modern, while retaining the same overall size and form factor. The filter is now a thicker integrated one rather than two separate pieces, and accessing it is a more refined process with a hinged lid that remains attached to the body of the unitand a slide-out pre-filter. (You can now see exactly how much time you have left before you need to clean the prefilter or change the filter by scrolling through the options on the info button.) For its price, one would think Wi-Fi connectivity and app or remote control should have included, but that's a small quibble. Does anybody really need another app that requires a password to control a home appliance? I know I don't. I am impressed enough with the mighty2 that I may replace the other air purifiers in my home with this model, but I will be waiting for the next sale on them to do so. It went on sale for $189 during prime early deal days, and undoubtedly will be on sale again at Black Friday. Two thumbs way up!

A little pricey, but performance is worth it
I’ve had this air purifier for a little over a month now and have really liked it. It seems to do a really good job at cleaning the air in the large room I have it placed in. It’s about 20 feet away from our kitchen and will almost instantly switch into turbo mode when we start cooking. You can also see the display numbers go up which is neat to see it doing its job! Set up was extremely easy. I have not had to put a replacement filter yet, but putting the current one in was very straightforward. It is also light enough where you can move it from room to room if there’s a reason. I will say I think the price is a little high as the actual body quality does not seem to match the price point the air purification quality does though. It’s placed in a pretty large open concept, Family room/Kitchen combo. The prefilter seems to be a pretty neat idea as it catches all the bigger dust particles and dog hair. I vacuum this off about once a week. Overall, I would say this is a pretty effective air purifier.

Beyond Expectations
After being very impressed by the 400 in the main, open living/cooking/eating areas of the house, added a Mighty2 to the bedroom. Just as impressed by the Mighty2's performance. Noise level is low on settings 1 and 2; reasonable on setting 3/3 and the noise level on "Turbo" mode is not bad. It's a consistent white noise of air being moved and not a mechanical, rattling, whining noise. Wife loves some white noise to go to sleep to...I'm not big on it but much prefer the Mighty2's Turbo noise to a box fan on low or medium settings. Performance is fantastic. Noticeably fresher air and has worked wonders keeping dust/dander/dog hair from settling on surfaces in between dusting and vacuuming sessions. We keep a clean house, but two dogs will always leave a bit of "funk" in their trail...the Mighty2 and 400 make light work of cycling that funk through the carbon filter and replacing it with fresh, neutral smelling goodness. Was skeptical of air purifiers in general...glad my wife talked me into giving them a try. Extremely effective at what they do, no snake oil in Coway's offerings so far.

Very Quiet!
I bought this for our bedroom because I needed one that was very quiet, and this fits the bill for that. On the lowest speed it is rather quiet and not noticeable when sleeping. The reasons for not giving it five stars are as follows, and basically come down to operating controls/features. It has a variable speed option, where the speed increases depending on air quality, but one of those fan speeds is off! I'd prefer it to continue running, and that is not an option with the variable speed setting. Also, it has the ability to display the particle size 1.0, 2.5 and 10 values, along with the pre-filter status (0-100% left), but you have to cycle through those. It defaults to 2.5, so you can't for example just leave it on the pre-filter setting. And finally, the pre-filter seems to need cleaning rather frequently, about every two weeks due perhaps to my cats, but that's a cleaning not a replacement. So overall very good, but it could use a bit of tweaking in the programming.

Almost Perfect
Bought this based on the Wirecutter recommendation, and they didn’t lie. I have bad allergies and sensitivities to smells, so I’ve tried lots of air purifiers, including my most recent trendy, expensive ones, and this is the quietest one I’ve ever had. It’s almost silent on low speed. I love being able to turn off some or all of the lights on the display. It looks nice, can sit against the wall, and has a very small footprint for a filter that will clean 1800 sq ft. Replacement filters are reasonably priced. My only quibble is that they’ve integrated Eco mode with Smart mode on this model, so in Smart mode, it will shut off the fan if the air shows as good for a period of time. I don’t want it to ever shut off, so I have to run it in manual mode, which is okay, but I wish I could have it on Smart mode and not have it shut off.
