Super easy to setup. However, make sure you are comfortable installing the discs which you need to buy separately. The UI is super modern and easy to use. I have started using it for just a few days but the overall experience is amazing.
Much better than Qnap and Synology
I believe this is the best nas drive one can have. I tried qnap but it was pathetic loved this

Easy to set up and a joy to use - excellent VfM
This is not my first NAS but previous (big brand 2 bay) one was feeling slowly and clunky (running Plex) so I decided to look for a new solution. For my budget this one seemed to tick all the right boxes in terms of value for money (quality vs cost), functionality and overall performance. So it took the plunge and I've installed 4 x 4TB NAS drive in Raid configuration. I've switched to Jellyfin and I must say I'd totally delighted with the set up. Feels so much better than the previous system in terms of ease of set-up, easy of use, speed of uploads and streaming performance. I can't fault it for the price. The NAS feels well made, the drives are really easy to access and I've not experienced any issue with heat or noise. Great value for money. Would be nice to have a Nvme SSD slot but that's a lot to ask at the price point.
Brilliant kit, good software
I've had this installed for a while now so time to review. Setup was a doddle. Honestly, I don't think I've had a piece of kit set up more easily. I'm by no means a hardware expert but I have more than basic computer skills. This was so well implemented anyone could have it up and running in no time. As always with ugreenthis is really well made. Looks great sitting under the TV and you can turn off the LEDs to reduce distractions. It's quiet and reasonable on power use. The software is great. Yes, it's more basic than -say- Jellyfin or Plex but I've pretty much stopped bothering with this since I got this as the Theater app they do does everything I need with next to no setup. Plus it can just be plugged into the TV with an hdmi cable and used directly. It's the same with all the other apps and its Docker implementation is great. I'd never used it before but it's really easy to use here. Brilliant piece of kit from one of my most trusted brands.
Freedom From Subscriptions. Freedom For Your Files.
This is a very good device. A proper home NAS changes how you store things. It feels like breaking free from the subscription-based life we all got dragged into. I have saved a lot of money each month. No more cloud fees. No more limits. No more panic when a service decides to change its rules. It is expensive. The return takes time. You feel the cost at the start. You forget it later when you realise you now own your storage. The interface on phone and PC is simple. Setup is easy. I bought a Seagate IronWolf 8TB and a Toshiba N300 8TB for a RAID setup. It took minutes. I moved all my images and videos across. It has been running since November 2025. Eight months in, and it has been solid. A home NAS gives you control. You get your own private cloud. You get fast access to files. You get safe backups. You get media streaming at home. You get shared folders for family. You get proper RAID protection. You get peace of mind. You get freedom from monthly bills. Pros Easy setup. Simple interface on phone and PC. Great for storing photos and videos. RAID support for safety. Cuts down subscription costs. Acts as your own private cloud. Fast access to files. Good for media streaming. Great for long-term storage. Cons Expensive at the start. Return on investment takes time. Needs hard drives to be bought separately. Verdict A strong choice if you want control over your data. Great for cutting subscription costs. Great for long-term storage. I would recommend it if you want a private cloud that you own.
So, UGREEN, which one of us is green?
I bought the UGREEN DH4300 Plus because I wanted a proper NAS capable of handling my data and local surveillance recording from four Tapo C210 cameras, which I also purchased through Amazon. After spending a considerable amount of time setting everything up and troubleshooting, I have discovered that while the cameras can connect via ONVIF and 24/7 recording works, the Event Only/motion-triggered recording does not work as it should. That is the functionality I actually need. I do not want four cameras recording continuously when there is no movement. I want the cameras to record when an event occurs. What makes this particularly frustrating is that Synology supports the Tapo C210, including integration with Surveillance Station. If another major NAS manufacturer can support these cameras, why can't UGREEN? I have now also found reports from other UGREEN customers describing what appears to be the same problem with Tapo cameras going back around three months. Had I found those reports before purchasing this NAS, I would not have bought it. I also lost approximately five days of my return/evaluation period because the item was advertised with next-day delivery but took around five days to arrive. (Thanks Amazon Prime!) There is also an issue with how my purchase was supplied. I bought the NAS as a bundle with a UPS unit, with the total purchase price being over £370. The order was subsequently handled in such a way that the price of the NAS was reduced and the UPS was sent back separately. If I ultimately return the NAS, the UPS will also need to go back with it. I am not prepared to be financially disadvantaged by the way this transaction has been structured. I am now seriously considering returning the DH4300 Plus and moving to another manufacturer. UGREEN needs to wake up and fix this. Customers shouldn't have to discover that an advertised surveillance feature doesn't work properly only after buying the NAS, installing everything, configuring it and spending days
Good item, but...
Excellent piece of kit. Well built and basic set up is easily followed with the on-screen guidance. However, I had to research on YouTube how to connect it to my hometown computer via the router and set up remote access. Good product, needs better media instructors to fully utilise all of its capabilities. So beginners may need help. I would still recommend over other home storage systems.
