Excellent Transition from MS Sculpt for Mac Users/Programmers (with modifications)
Overall Impressions: Having using this keyboard for a month, I can say that it is really nice with the right modifications. I have used the MS Sculpt for years and tried other ergonomic/split mechanicals, but none checked all the boxes until this one. The build quality and price point are both excellent given other options on the market. This keyboard has become my daily driver for all manner of work and personal use and is, quite frankly, a delight to use. Below are some details that others (especially programmers/developers) may find helpful. Transition from MS Sculpt: Expect an adjustment period if moving from an ergonomic keyboard such as the MS Sculpt, Logitech ERGO K860 or like form factor. However, if you are patient and give it plenty of time and practice, you will build the muscle memory required for typing proficiency. For the MS Sculpt transition specifically, moving to uniform key sizes and straight rows was more difficult than anticipated. A feature of the Sculpt is the larger key sizes for keys used by the index finger that are further from the home row (ex. T, G, H and N keys). While this allows more forgiveness when reaching for such keys, the downside is that your index fingers lose precision and need to be retrained when moving to a keyboard where all keys are the same size. But again, with patience, time and practice, this will come around. Hardware Modifications: The ESC key next to the 1 key seemed improperly placed, so I swapped it with the ~ (tilde) key, which works much better. If you use tilde for Mac window switching or Terminal/Visor for programming, you may find this placement helpful. However, since this removes the ESC key, this needs to be remapped to another key (more detail in Software Modifications). The stock creamy linear key switches are actually really nice, but for those who tend to type hard and/or bottom out, tactile or clicky switches may be needed. Good build quality, bad for Mac
Keyboard build quality is high and I’ve very happy with my first split keyboard experience from an ergonomic perspective. I also love that it has built-in tilt adjustments (though they don’t offer fine-tuned adjustments). My major gripe is that the keyboard doesn’t work well on Mac, even after making customizations. The software to customize the keyboard is Windows-only, so mind that if you are a Mac user. After that hurdle, I was able to swap the Windows/Super key position with its neighbor, as well as move the ~’ key to where it should be (left of 1). Unfortunately, the left Fn key doesn’t function the same as a native Mac fn key (bringing up the Emoji picker), but works fine for accessing the F-keys using the numeric keys. The right Fn key unfortunately is only for hardware hotkeys to configure settings — pressing it doesn’t send any message to the host computer so it can’t even be remapped to behave as a Fn key using software such as Karabiner-Elements. I also haven’t found a use for the M keys on the left yet. I was excited for them, perhaps as Zoom mute toggle, camera toggle, or keys to switch through MacOS “Spaces” (multiple desktops) but the config software isn’t very powerful/featured and I haven’t looked deeply into Karaniner-Elements yet. The M-keys appear as left-alt + another key so you’re out of luck if that chord happens to be used by another app and you also wanted the M keys to do something else. Perhaps most frustratingly, the right half of the keyboard goes into sleep mode, even when connected with USB, after some time without activity (5 min or so). The settings software doesn’t have a setting to control the sleep duration for the particular keyboard (it does for other RK Royal Kludge keyboards). It’s very annoying when the right half is completely unresponsive until I press a key on the left, even though everything is plugged in. Lastly, I learned that I’m not a fan of the 70% layout — it sure would be nice for the arrow keys to be a little more

Lovin it
This mechanical keyboard completely blew me away! First of all, the creamy switches are exceptionally smooth and velvety to the type. The actuation is light with a deep, pleasant sound, making long typing sessions an absolute pleasure without tiring out your fingers. The split ergonomic design is exceptionally friendly to your shoulders and wrists, allowing your arms to rest naturally and saying goodbye to the neck and shoulder pain caused by standard keyboards.

Good keyboard with issues
There's so much I like about this keyboard but it's the little things that really make an otherwise perfect product challenging to use. First, even when wired directly thru USB-C the keyboard turns off, only a keystroke on the left half will wake the keyboard up, and the first keystroke used is never recorded. I can understand turning off the keyboard when it's in wireless mode to save battery, but there's no reason to do that when connected. Some of the key mappings, especially on a Mac takes some getting used to. I also wish the battery life was longer. There's a lot of room in such a big keyboard for a larger capacity battery. Overall, the build quality of the keyboard itself is solid, keystrokes feel nice, and the split layout really does help with ergonomics, I only wish it worked better. Hopefully there can be a firmware update.
