Perfect Product
This is exactly what I was looking for. Perfect product and will solve your multiple hard drive problem. U can bring you drives under one umbrella. Easy to use and very easy to install the drives. Just open and insert and you are ok to use.
This is not a Raid controlled unit but works fine as an External Hard Drive Enclosure
This specific model dont have a RAID controller inbuilt, the product descriptions were not accurate or detailed enough to understand the differences. It works fine as hardware enclosure, you can use multiple bays with different HDD capacities and windows will recognize them as a mass storage units. The transfer speeds are just okay dont expect the lightning fasts. For me im just taking the data backups and is okay. The max drive i used is 4 TB in a single closure and 2 TBs in the rest.
Great drive box for backup
I use this box to house my backup drives for my NAS. So far it's been very reliable and there were no issues installing drives in it. Get something else if you want a NAS. This is fine for having multiple backup drives that you place files on it manually and don't want a bunch of power supplies and USB cables cluttering your desk.

Resulted in Bricked Drive
I bought this to consolidate several external drives into one enclosure. I first noticed the mechanism to seat the drives in feels a bit flimsy and it’s hard to tell if they fully seated. After getting all 4 drives installed everything was working fine, until the second day using it I restarted my PC. One of my drives didn’t show up correctly in File Explorer and I was prompted to format it. I used a recovery tool called TestDisk to try and get my data back, but after restarting the computer again the drive completely disappeared and Windows could not recognize it. I haven’t been able to recover my data as the drive is now totally bricked. It may have been a defective enclosure but I was not willing to try again so I returned this product and bought a different one. For that reason I would not recommend it at all. Edit: This was the 5-bay model, they seem to have merged the different products.
Tech Support is a straight up scam
Maybe the product is ok and I just had bad luck and got a defective unit. Problem was a little unusual. Unit powered up, and disks inserted were seen by the disk management system and could be formatted ok, but it was slow. Once formatted the performance of any HD in the enclosure was terrible. Transfer rate was 20 % normal or less, and would only work for one disk at a time. The problem was for the whole enclosure and not any particular slot -I tried them all. Tested with Seagate, Toshiba and Arsenal drives in the Orico and verified the disks to be good in a Sabrent enclosure. Tried every USB port and swapped cables a few times. Same results, perfectly good drives had snail paced read/write speeds. OK no problem, I'll return it. Then the real fun begins. I apply for a RMA. Very quickly Orico sends back an email saying they don't understand the problem. I send them back a page long description of the problem, including exquisitely detailed troubleshooting steps and test results from SEATOOLS, Crystal, etc. and send it off. Again a pretty fast response comes back (like 24 hours): They still don't understand the problem, can I send them a video? Huh? A video of a disk not transferring data? Am I supposed to installed stream capture equipment on my server to uplaod like a YouTuber? Or set up a video camera to watch my monitor screen for the hour or two it takes to write a .txt and then upload the multi GB file to them somehow? Or did they want some kind of home movie showing me setting up the enclosure and inserting a disk drive? That all seemed ridiculous and frankly I to this day think the ask for a video was just a dodge of some kind. I did send them screen captures of the test results comparing a couple of Disks in the Orico and the same two disks in a Sabrent, along with the results printouts, but apparently JPEGS won't do in place of a "video". I got a third response back saying they couldn't proceed with the return without a video. At this point I got Prime invo
A little Disapointed
I am disappointed as the item showed up damaged ( as other have had happen ) it was not hard to fix for someone like me that enjoys fixing things, but I feel this happened when it was boxed as the package was not damaged. I think the manufacture should have some better quality control. the only other issue I have with the issue is the doors on some of the drive bays don't open far enough to put the drive in easily. for the damage see attached photos. other then those issues I have not had any other issues with the drives working within windows.
