This monitor is magic! A massive upgrade from my Samsung Odyssey G3!
I spent a pretty long time comparing different monitors before buying this one, and I’m really happy I went with the MSI MAG 272UP QD-OLED E16. Before this, I was using a Samsung Odyssey G3 with a 1080p VA panel, and the difference is honestly massive. I knew I was upgrading to 4K and OLED, but I didn’t expect the difference in image quality to be insanely noticeable! The blacks on the QD-OLED are incredible. Dark scenes actually look dark instead of having that grayish or washed-out look I was used to seeing on my VA panel. Colors are also on another level. Compared directly with my old G3, the VA now looks noticeably washed out and dull, while the QD-OLED looks much more vibrant and has much better contrast and depth. The 4K resolution at 27 inches is also incredibly sharp, and going from 1080p to 4K makes a huge difference for both gaming and everyday use. The 165Hz refresh rate makes everything feel extremely smooth, and the 0.03ms response time is great for gaming. HDR is another huge improvement. The combination of QD-OLED’s perfect blacks, vibrant colors, and DisplayHDR True Black 400 makes HDR games and content look much more immersive. I also really like the features and connectivity. It has HDMI 2.1, DisplayPort 1.4a, USB-C with DisplayPort Alt Mode and 15W Power Delivery, AMD FreeSync Premium Pro, G-SYNC compatibility, and the AI Care Sensor. The 3H scratch-resistant surface is also a great touch. With an expensive OLED panel, I’m always going to be careful when cleaning it, but having that added scratch resistance gives me much more peace of mind. I don’t have to be quite as nervous about accidentally leaving a mark during normal cleaning and maintenance. A lot of OLED monitors don’t offer this level of scratch resistance, so I really appreciate MSI implementing it here. It makes the monitor feel more durable and gives me more confidence that the display will hold up well over time. The only thing I feel could have been better is the price. I know most O
