Logitech has a winner in this one!!
Where to start. Ok everyone, so I recently got into computer gaming. My career is in IT, but I've always been more drawn to the xbox/play station world. After building my PC, I started with basic peripherals. My PC is a beast, but my peripherals were basic. I didnt know what to invest on and I definitely didn't want my first PC gaming experience to go to waste because of cheap electronics. After about a year of researching. Yes a year, I take my investments and computer parts seriously. Also, I know that there are super high end mouses out there but listen. Everyone has different size hands/fingers and while it might work for 90% of the population it might not work for you. Well guess what? I used the high end mouse devices and I was one of the 10% that didn't work for me. All my friends are aficionados of PC hardware so i got to try all of them. Literally, every single one that the pros use. Until my best friend recommended this mouse to me, we share the same physical aspects when it comes to our hands. Which is about 6.5-7 inches from the bottom of your palm to the top of the middle finger. Rather small hands, but hey - I can still throw the football 50 yards, so I was never worried about it. Key note: Be honest with yourself when picking a mouse that is for you. This is the device you will use the most, so why lie to yourself on how comfortable it is when showing it to others? When I received this mouse I was a little skeptical I'm not going to lie. I trusted my friend over my past experiences with Logitech. I haven't been a fan of logitech ever since I got into computers when I was 13 yrs old. Their PC cameras were awful, their keyboards- sub par, the quality of their electronics: cheap. I opened it and I was neutral about it, meaning I had used high end mouse devices from my friends and they still had some in the boxes ("just in case my mouse breaks they said, for emergency" 70 dollar mouse btw) I told my friend I got it in the mail and told him I was about to
Daedalus G302
Ergonomics: Despite the odd shape, this mouse is actually quite comfortable to hold. I have fairly large hands as well and have had no issues. Though it does require a "claw" type grip, the grip comes fairly naturally. The buttons, of which there are very few, are well placed and have a satisfying amount of travel. The buttons are fairly emit a noticeable clicking sound which I personally enjoy. No complaints on the cord either, it just does it's job. Function: This is a gaming mouse. God help you if you try to actually do any sort of word processing or web browsing with this thing. The scrolling wheel and the shape of the mouse are not suited towards anything except firing up a video game. The scrolling wheel of the G302 has very defined steps, which makes it easy to accurately move only one step. The mouse is well weighted allowing for movements. As for the sensitivity toggle button, I still think that it's a stupid gimmick, but it functions quite well if you actually want to use it. There are four adjustable sensitivity settings for you to flip through and the button does not get in the way, so accidentally switching the sensitivity is unlikely. Conclusion: I enjoy using this mouse for all kinds of vids, not just FPS. The ergonomics are well thought out and make the mouse comfortable to hold and use. The buttons have a satisfying amount of travel. Lastly, the G302 is durable. It feels well built, it looks well built, and it can take a fall (or an impact) At $40, this mouse is a great buy. Getting up to the 55-65 range, maybe not so much. Seriously though, this can't be your only mouse, you're going to need a second one for everything besides video games.
Excelente Mouse
I'm Super Happy I'm Back to the Mouse I First Started With!
This is more of a review plus. I first got this mouse locally, but after about 6 months or more of usage, I started to experience "double clicking" which led to an application doing more than I intended. But this mouse I went above and beyond to reorder again b/c it's design and feel made whatever I game I played feel "Personally Engaged" in terms of precision, smoothness and accuracy as well as it felt like a puck on an air hockey table. The only mouse that comes anywhere close to this is the Logitech G203 and G305 which I still appreciate and would buy over any gaming mouse on the market today besides this Daedalus. Pros: - Comfort and feel - Precision, accuracy, smoothness - Intuitive and fun to play on - Logitech software supported which allows for DPI (Distance Per Inch) adjusting to user's specific setting Cons: - Depending on usage, the wear and tear on the left clicker and the side buttons will gradually decline and wear down as you'll begin to experience a program or web browser expand or do something more than you intended (which will lead the user to slowing of the "Clicking rating" in Control Panel") - It doesn't have RGB, just a solid Blue or Pulsing Blue light (which doesn't bother me one bit)
