I'm Not A Gamer And I'll NEVER Spend A Lot Of Money On A Monitor (With Update)

UPDATE: I have had this thing for almost 2 and a half years now. I am happier with it every day! Two things to note are: 1) I have never seen anything like somebody welding something in a Youtube video!! It's so absolutely bright, it lights up the room a little and I reflexively squint until I have time to realize that it can't hurt my eyes because it's not real life. 2) Much of the time, it has better flesh tones than my big screen Hisense TV out in the living room! I can't recommend it enough. It's not even really a budget monitor; it's just not a gaming monitor! It sure is good for everything else!! I've been using this Viewsonic VX2778-SMHD 27 inch monitor since Jan, 2017, Very nice monitor! But, then I built a dream machine. i7-14700K on an ASRock Z790 Riptide motherboard with lots of SSD's and NVME drives. 48 gigs of very fast RAM and two DVDRW's. I'm pretty good at this and I did my very best not to allow any bottlenecks and not spend money on silly things. It absolutely screams; it gets stuff done fast! I also have an older Intel computer, an AMD computer, and a Raspberry Pi in here. So I have an HDMI KVM switcher and an HDMI audio extractor (audio goes straight to a competent home stereo). So, I don't play any games anymore, but I do want to get stuff done! There came a point where I wanted to make use of this somewhat better video card that's better than anything I've ever used. (Still not for gaming, tho.) I scoured Amazon. I ended up getting an NVidia GeForce GTX 1660 used, that was DIRT cheap! I chewed my nails wondering if it was going to work, but it did and it does! From the first momen, for about 9 or 10 months! I forget how much memory it's got, but it's up there. So, now, I had this video card mostly going to waste (Except for hardware acceleration; that's really nice!) So, I measured how much room I have. If I looked at monitors with really thin frames around the screen and measured and did the math... I decided on 32 inches. I scoured Amazon aga

dead pixels

Seemed half decent, especially for the price. Set it at 2k, but then hooked up a different computer I had to quickly look at and the text was illegible until i changed the resolution to something else. But the big deal was, on the day we actually went to use this and opened up a full screen in word, a big area of dead pixels became apparent.. it's about 1mm x 1mm in size, so quite a few pixels all in one spot next to each other making what looks like a hole in the screen. This points to some real manufacturing issues. I haven't had pixel issue with a monitor in 20 years. Need a replacement now, but won't take a chance on this a second time.

Bonne aubaine

Très bon pour le prix, mais très sensible et l’image coupe parfois au moindre appareil électrique que j’allume s’il est à côté. Quand j’éteins l’écran en laissant le PC allumé, si je veux le rallumer ça ne fonctionne pas, je dois débrancher et rebrancher l’alimentation. C’est fatiguant mais pas si contraignant pour ma part.

Amazing Bargain!

Great monitor for the price, I managed to get this on sale with a 40$ coupon added so I snagged it for 160$ which was a steal, the monitor was package very well around the base with Styrofoam. The monitor has great colors options. Being the 32 it's HUGE! One complaint they should separate the screws from each other, they packed all the different sizes screws together, because I kept have to figure out which size was which, 2 pair of screws were almost identical from each other. But other then that would definitely buy again if on sale!

Fantastic value so far! Colors need tweaking.

I use a 32" LG QHD monitor as my main screen. Otherwise I used two 24" as lateral additional monitors (I am a video editor). I've been looking for a cheap-but-decent 32" monitor to replace one of my 24" and get better color rendition than office-hand-me-down LCDs. That's where the KTC 32" QHD kicks in, and it has been a great performer so far! Color coverage claims are a bit exagerated (my Colormunki iDisplay rates the KTC screen as 92% of sRGB, not 109%). Still, I got this KTC 32" QHD monitor heavily discounted, so it is fantastic value. Next will come longevity - will update if it craps out early. Otherwise, definitely recommended!
