Disgusting Waste of Potential: Only 16 Macros
I finally got one after setting up autobuy on Amazon, but I wish I had dug deeper and tempered my expectations a little. Long story short, the software you use to configure the board only allows you to save 16 different macros. UPDATE/NOTE: After posting this I found out how to use AutoHotkeys (a free program found elsewhere) to intercept key combinations before they hit any other program and replace them with macros written in a script you make. It was very easy, actually, and thank god this keyboard lets you put key combinations without limit (no limit I've seen yet, anyway). But the product still gets 4 stars for making me do that. I couldn't believe it at first. I mean, it's called a 100-key macro pad, but only 16 of those keys can actually contain macros? What kind of joke is that? But, it's true. It's more of a 100 key shortcut-pad, since you can have any number of keyboard shortcuts you like. You can choose any or all of control, shift, alt, and the windows key along with another key, and you can have as many of those as you want. I think it would be good for editing software, they use keyboard shortcuts a lot. But I only use two--copy and paste. And in fact, you can customize all 100 buttons. The corners aren't actually reserved for lighting. But who cares. 16 macros. If you write your own code and compile new firmware and send it to the keyboard, you can send more than 16, but I couldn't find any specifics about the maximum number. I also couldn't figure it out at all. I might try to eventually figure it out, but if I can only go from 16 to say, 42, then what's the point? I would've loved to put 200 macros on the thing, since what they do allow you to do is switch between 4 different layouts at any time, and I could've used that. For my job, I need to type the same number and letter combinations over and over again, so I could've easily filled up all 400 potential spaces. If you could save an unlimited number of macros, it would've been easy--except that al
