Fantastic 75% Keyboard
This keyboard is fantastic. The first thing you'll notice is the weight. This is not the keyboard you're casually tossing into a backpack every day. This thing arrives, sits on your desk, and immediately lets every other keyboard know who's in charge. The aluminum body looks gorgeous, feels incredibly solid, and gives it a premium feel that is hard to miss. What really sold me though was the typing experience. The keys feel great, the feedback is excellent, and it sounds absolutely fantastic. Every keypress has that satisfying mechanical sound that makes you suddenly want to answer emails just so you can keep typing. I also didn't notice any lag while using it, and everything felt smooth and responsive. If you're looking for a sturdy 75% keyboard that looks great, sounds great, and feels great to use, this one is an easy recommendation.

Definitely the best wireless metal board on the market right now.
This keyboard is an absolute beast in terms of build quality. The Keychron Q1 Ultra costs what is does because you are effectively paying for precision engineering and raw materials rather than just "electronics." The entire body of the Q1 is carved from a solid block of 6063 Aluminum. Yes, I researched this. The keyboard is almost 4 lbs! This is CNC milled, meaning a robot spent hours carving your beautiful keyboard out of a solid metal brick, followed by sandblasting and anodizing steps. For me the stock keycaps felt a little too tall for my liking. If you find them uncomfortable, I highly recommend swapping them out for a Cherry profile set (buy a full set at the Keychron website to make sure you get every key you'd need). This makes a huge difference in typing comfort for what I'm used to. These keycaps remind me of a 1930's typewriter. I highly recommend a wrist pad since all the quality materials (CNC milled aluminum, gasket, and acoustic foam) make the front edge a little taller than most. This is a 75% board. If you live in spreadsheets, you will miss the number pad. I ended up buying a separate standalone mechanical numpad for when I really need to crunch numbers. With the numpad missing to the right, you can now move the mouse closer to the center. If you are on Linux like me, remember that you'll likely need to create a custom udev rule file so the browser can access the device for remapping keys and updating firmware on the "Keychron Launcher" website. Just look up "Keychron udev rule" for how to do this. It's not hard and takes less than a minute. Its a Linux security thing. And speaking of Linux, no drivers are needed for Linux, Mac, or Windows. Other brands make you have to download drivers and software that only run on Windows. No thank you. Keychron products are operating system agnostic. The 2.4GHz dongle is rock solid.
