Great for flight sim - NOT for firmware upgrade
FLIGHT SIMULATOR CABLE - This works great for using the FS-i6 as a flight sim controller. It shows up in windows as a game controller and doesn't need any extra drivers or setup. If you are looking for to upgrade the firmware you will need a different cable. Look for Flysky Data Cable. It's confusing because it looks nearly identical to this cable.

I took a chance and it works.
In the description it does not mention my controller, FlySky FS-i6X, and in the questions section, I believe, the seller said it will not work with my model. But, since I could not find a cable designated to work with the i6X unit, I took the chance and ordered it. Been using it every day now for a week with Clearview simulator, and it seems to work just fine. Occasionally, I have a problem with not being able to control Clearview, but I think this is because you have to go through the startup procedure in a certain order, else things get confused. I have learned, turn on the radio and maneuver through settings (flip your switches for throttle kill, dual rates, etc.), THEN, run Clearview. If your i6X is not on first, you will not be able to control the simulator. Anyway, I just wanted to let others know, in case you have an i6X, go ahead and order this. It does work. At least so far. Makes using the simulator so much more fun with a proper controller.
Good value for the price. 3rd party drivers are not required for Windows 8.1
The device setup in Windows 8.1 was easy. Drivers were not needed, it shows up as game controller when plugged in the USB. I was able to calibrate it easily in Windows, but this may not be necessary depending on the simulator you are using as both Liftoff and DRL both had in-game calibration and setup that worked very easily. I passed on the included software. DRL simulator is excellent for a free sim and Liftoff at $20 is also very good. I bought this to gain proficiency with my quad flying and I have to say that muscle memory develops quite quickly using a real RC transmitter compared to a game pad. I am using this with a FlySky FS-i6X and no special settings were needed in the Tx. Just turn it on and go. In Liftoff, I needed to configure the controller a few times as some of the axes kept getting assigned in reverse. After I payed attention to the quad preview, it was fairly straightforward to invert the axes that needed it. Overall, after a few hours of simulator flying, I would recommend this as a good, inexpensive solution for simulator practice.
works with FS-i6 and FS-i6X
This is the real FMS Simulator cable, from FlySky. I'm using it with an FS-i6X and FS-i6 transmitter (I own one of each and tested both of them), plugged into a 2022 M2 MacBook Air. There's a cool free macOS app called Joystick Monitor that will let you see the controller axes moving and functioning, so you can test it before spending money on a Flight Simulator (or RC flight simulator). Not as clean as a wireless dongle but cheaper and it works. This lets you use your real RC transmitter as a flight stick for flight sims. Really useful for using it with R/C sims, so you can practice R/C flying with your actual transmitter.
