As advertised, almost new, even came with wifi

Kind of expensive, $450 used, could find a little cheaper on ebay or kijiji maybe. Why I bought it? Mom needed another comp immediately for work to run her programs (excel, mainframes, databases, etc). I just wanted something basic that won’t die, and has a really small form factor. Amazon prime ftw. Anyways, not disappointed at all, as advertised comes with: windows 10 pro, intel i5-6500T, 8gb ram and 256 gb ssd. I am pleased to see that it is samsung ram and ssd (I opened it up, please see pictures), and even included a wifi card, was planning on running an ethernet cord but it is not needed now. It also has 2 display ports and 1 VGA out the back for display, for my specific model, could be different as I found online they can vary (picture included). I cleaned it up inside, was a little dusty, but not caked on, using compressed air. There is actually a youtube video by HP themselves on how to disassemble this unit which was very helpful. The exterior is pretty good apart from some kind of sticker residue left behind on the front, easily gone now using paper towel and water when it was disassembled. Computer is also so silent since it only has one fan. One of the pictures I included is of it idling after boot up after 6 minutes. Keyboard and mouse were included which was a surprised but they feel cheap and the keyboard was broken upon arrival, some keys don’t work as I tried to type the internet password in, it includes the character “p” and the “p” key is non responsive on the keyboard (among many). But it’s fine, I honestly wouldn’t use their $5 keyboard they provided anyways. Mouse seems fine. After some cleaning, and a LOT of windows updates, it’s ready to be used and its perfect so far. I can even upgrade the ram down the road if I want as well (has 2 slots total). You can search the maximum ram this computer can handle online (which is 32gb I believe). All in all, good purchase, fulfilled by amazon, but sold by someone else.

Zippy performance in a very small package IF you actually get the "Mini" version

NOTE: My usage does not involve gaming. I wanted a smaller PC for office use, surfing and monitoring one surveillance camera. The Good: Very compact, I was surprised at how small it is. Can easily pick it up and lift it with one hand. I most definitely got the "Mini" version (i.e. not just Small Form Factor). What I received is 2" larger in 2 dimensions compared to a 5X5 NUC (Next Unit of Computing form factor). Zippy performance on this HP with a Core i5 2.5 Ghz CPU. (Perspective: For YouTube 1080p and general surfing, this HP 800 Elitedesk feels as fast as my other PCs which are i7-4790K with 16GB RAM PCs that have top quality Solid State Drives). Boots quickly. No overheating. Once I started using it, I said to myself "Why do people even bother with Intel (or AMD) NUCs? (i.e. the 5X5" "Next Unit of Computing" form factor). From what I read, many of the people that go with NUC sized units have nothing but overheating and driver problems. None of that here with this HP unit. 256GB Fast SSD drive but after formatting and putting windows on it, you get 233GB - still pretty good. Totally silent. Many USB 3.0 ports. The Bad: No HDMI out. It has Display Port and VGA. ( I ordered a DP to HDMI adapter. We'll see. For now I'm using VGA as a workaround.) No Operating System disk as a fail safe if I needed to do a reinstall / repair. No OS image on USB drive, or recovery partition (that I can find) provided on the SSD drive. No papers or instructions of any kind - which doesn't bug me that much but no license key is a bit annoying. You boot as Local Adminstrator with a "Null" (blank set) password. I immediately reset it and created other accounts for daily use. There are many Amazon "resellers" of this HP. I deliberately chose one with a 100% rating and paid 40 - 50 dollars more for that. I can say that the computer I received is what was actually pictured/listed/presented. Mine arrived packaged well and came with basic keyboard and mouse. ABSOLUTELY NO BLOATWARE.. YAY! So f

All as described except no Wi-Fi and no BT dongle

Four and a half star rating. It is actually a laptop stripped of its keyboard, screen, and battery, so it is small. It comes with a separate power supply - like a laptop. Advertised as Win 10 Pro but comes with 11 Pro instead. Easy install, update, and flawless registration with Microsoft. The SSD is very generic Chinese 256 M.2. I ordered 2 of these small PCs. One was slightly used judging by the few specs of dust over the fan inside. Fan is silent. The second one looked brand new. Both came with brand new generic keyboards and generic new mouse. Both had 100% functioning output sockets and connectors. There is a puny single speaker built in inside. But both PCs had no Wi-Fi / BT dongle, which is consistent with other reviews. I will be contacting the vendor and ask to send me those. Overall, it's exactly what I needed for basic use.

Great system

I've worked with these before and decided to buy my own. It's a great system for home or office and is small, light, and quiet. It's expandable with both an M.2 slot and a SATA connector. It worked great from the start. The only draw back is the ram. 8 GB of ram is great for most uses but if you don't want to add more it will be hard to find as it seems to only take DDR4 2133. I tried some 2666 I had on hand and it only errors out so I looked up the specks online from HP and it only lists 2133 bus as compatible. Other than that it's a really good little system.

Happy with it

I was a bit dubious ordering this little PC. I have to say, I was pleasantly surprised at the condition of the PC when I received it. 1 - It was packaged REALLY well, and it came with a USB WiFi dongle and Keyboard-Mouse combo The Keyboard and mouse are wired, and really cheap, but wasn't listed in the description, so it was a nice surprise. 2 - The unit itself was very clean and almost brand new looking. The inside was dust free, and while I didn't check if it had fresh thermal paste, my guess is that it does. 3 - The description said the model was from 2017, but google will tell you it was manufactured in 2016 and this was confirmed upon opening the unit and seeing a 256GB SSD from 2016. However, S.M.A.R.T. software indicated 94% drive health and a low # of writes , so I assume the SSD is healthy and will last for a few years 4 - Came with 8GB of Samsung memory...yay!!!. 5 - It was a single 8GB stick, so not in dual channel mode to help with the weak integrated graphics... booo!!! I replaced with a 2x4 GB memory kit, and sold the 8GB Samsung stick for $30 CAD 6 - This computer comes with the Windows 10 Pro Authentication Key embedded in the bios. It also comes with a stock version of Windows 10 Pro installed. However, I chose to perform a fresh installation of windows from a USB stick to be on the safe side, and Windows was automatically activated upon connecting to the internet 7 - it was missing the tiny screws needed for the M.2 connectors on the motherboard. Luckily, I was able to pillage one from the extra M.2 socket on my laptop, and get a NVMe drive installed that way. 8 - Though I wouldn't say that the power connection on the back of the PC is loose, it is certainly not tight. So bear that in mind if you will be moving the unit around while powered on, or if the power cord is in a position to be tripped over or inadvertently tugged on. In conclusion, I have been using this little beast as a retro gaming console, connected to my TV via a display port-to-HDM
