Best and most useful 4K monitor out there now

This is the best 4K monitor out there - after a long research, use of other monitors and after using it for few months now: - All devices are connected to the monitor, USB Keyboard/mouse, Ethernet 2.5Gb, Soundbar, another 4k display at full resolution. Only 1 TB4 cable to my laptop - The panel clarity and contrast are awesome. Once you set the display properly, you would want to re-watch all your movies again - that's how great the panel resolution is. - if you enable HDR in windows, you may suffer from washed down or gray color in videos and movies - after so many different attempts with various settings, and a long web research including Dell's support site - here's the fix: download the Dell Display and Peripheral Manager app, set the monitor to one of the HDR modes from the app settings, then (very important) set windows to SDR (do not enable Windows HDR), then go and enable "Auto Color Management" - this way you get rid of the "washed / grey color" issue - you will see videos bright and colorful like in a 4K TV or even better - and you still get 10bit color depth for windows application. - Do not enable "auto brightness" in the monitor settings - it's not that useful.

It’s a great monitor!

Very happy with this monitor! It's the perfect size— not too big, not too small. I mainly use it for photo editing and the color accuracy is excellent. With a Thunderbolt cable connected to my MacBook Air, it even charges the laptop, so I don’t need a separate charger (what’s awesome).

Do. Not. Buy.

The display is excellent, but the coil whine for my unit is obscenely loud. Not just for me, but it even disturbs others around me. By the time unpacked and set it up, I had missed the sellers two weeks return window. Contacted Dell, and their response was 'It is what it is, too bad'.

Pleasantly surprised by the monitor after reading bad reviews.

Very happy with my monitor! Was afraid of the reviews all talking about loud coilwhine and backlight bleed, however mine doesn't seem to have any of those. The coilwhine is only hearable when putting my ear on top of the monitor really close, and is still at, I would say, 5-10% loudness. My wife cannot hear it at all. Only downside if you have a cheap desk, the monitor stand is not that sturdy so the screen will wobble a little if shaking the desk. Typing doesn't move it, just bigger pushes.

Perfect for its use case.

I bought the monitor primarily for color-sensitive work and I couldn't be happier. The monitor isn't perfect, as no monitor really is, but it is one of the best options in its category (as of writing this review). Before buying the monitor however, one must be aware of some "cons". I put "cons" in quotes, because those aren't really negatives intrinsic to the monitor itself, but rather the drawbacks of the technology used or common across other products in this category. 1. First is the refresh rate. Yes, it is a 120hz monitor, which is fantastic for day to day use. However, this is not a gaming monitor. The refresh rate compliance is quite bad in reality and images will look blurry, although smooth. You should refer to the RTINGS review on this matter. This compliance issue seems to be present in other of the new IPS Black panels too. 2. IPS Bleeding. Yes there is IPS Bleeding, it's just the nature of the IPS technology and having thin bezels. You won't notice it in day to day use, unless you are staring at a blank black image. If you truly want a monitor with minimal IPS glow, you'd have to go for something like an Eizo CS/CG monitor. 3. The local dimming is awful, but you shouldn't be using it anyways, and that's all too common in monitors. *4. This is a very minor gripe, but the USB cables provided are too damn short. I believe both are 1m, which is a shame. Depending on your setup, you might need to spend another $20-30 on a longer USB4/TB4 cable. With all that aside, here are some pros: 1. The new and improved IPS Black with its 3000:1 contrast is wonderful. Big improvement for me, coming from an old standard IPS panel. 2. The colors are fantastic too, even pre-calibration. This combined with the contrast, makes it an exceptionally good panel for color-accurate work. Although it does definitely benefit from being calibrated, like any monitor. 3. The powered hub is fantastic and if you have a Mac/PC with TB4/USB4 (140w) you can run the whole monitor off of one

An Excellent PC and Mac Monitor

I gave this monitor five stars because I am genuinely impressed with the picture quality. I have used it with my Mac M1 and also tested it with my PS5 Pro since it supports 120hz VRR and in both cases the performance has been excellent. The image is sharp the colours are vibrant and overall I feel quite lucky with this purchase as the monitor arrived in perfect condition with no issues at all. I spent around 3 months researching monitors and comparing prices to find something that truly matched my needs. After looking at many options I kept coming back to the Dell U2725QE. Personally I spend a lot of time reading working on documents and using creative tools like Canva and photo editing apps so I needed something reliable and comfortable for long sessions. What I was looking for: - Sharpness and clarity - Accurate colours with good brightness - A full screen design with minimal bezels - Strong contrast ratio Every time I compared models this Dell monitor stood out so here is why I chose it: 1. High pixel density At 163 PPI everything looks incredibly sharp which makes a big difference when reading and working on detailed content. 2. Contrast ratio of 3000:1 This improves image clarity enhances colour depth and makes both work and entertainment more enjoyable. It is especially useful for editing photos and watching media. Also blacks appear deep and rich. 3. 99% DCI P3 colour coverage This means richer and more lifelike colours which really stand out in HDR content like console gaming, HDR YouTube, movies and creative work. 4. 100% sRGB coverage Perfect for web based content ensuring colours remain accurate and consistent when editing or viewing online material. 5. DisplayHDR 600 support Provides a solid HDR experience with strong brightness, good contrast, and a wide colour range when watching HDR content or playing HDR games which really enhances contrast and makes scenes feel more realistic and immersive. 6. 4K resolution with 120Hz refresh rate The 4K resolution

Works well under MacOS 10, 15 & Win11 through USB-C

I wasn't initially very impressed when trying to set this monitor up as a secondary display on my XPS13 laptop until the OS updated the driver. It never worked when searching for a monitor but eventually got discovered despite this. This was bought for my new M4Pro Mac Mini that worked straight away at 120Hz when selecting sensible resolutions. The build quality is best described as adequate rather than good - the stand's central pillar (has a hollowed section for cables) is a little wobbly & the baseplate's aluminium cover lifts slightly unless the monitor is lifted by the pillar. I would have paid extra for a more substantial stand. A wall mount plate is available. The supplied cables excludes HDMI but does include a DisplayPort one that's only use to me would be if I added another monitor. I use the Thunderbolt 140W port as the video input & 2 USB-A ports as outputs - the connectivity is excellent! As for picture quality - I've just come for a Late2014 iMac 5k with a shiny screen that could be moved slightly to reduce reflections & despite its age, is still excellent so have high expectations of this Dell. It's good despite not being a great fan of matt screens! I don't seem to be as sensitive to brightness variations as some so no complaints there though glare is noticeable so position carefully. Out-of-the box colours are great but will calibrate at some point for photo editing. The blacks don't reach OLED levels but are still very good. There are 2 USB-C & a USB-A forward facing port on a press-to-release box on the front left - hold the top of the monitor when pressing though! As for the menu system - there's a press-to-use stubby joystick control next to the power Button on the right side. Pressing up shows the main menu that quite extensive that also controls the hub & allows some customisation. When in standby mode, the small white LED blinks. I've not heard any whine as some have reported.
