High‑End Android Handheld, Charger Compatibility Is Picky
Compared to the lowest‑tier version of this handheld, I think this mid‑tier model with 12GB of RAM and 256GB of storage is worth more attention. One convenience is that this version includes a fingerprint reader, while the 8GB/128GB variant does not. However, this handheld—like other Ayaneo units I’ve tried—is picky about chargers. I tested it with a 140W GaN charger and a 45W GaN charger, and the charge LED would blink from white to red while never charging. Then I tried a 30W PPS charger, which worked fine, along with a 20W USB‑C phone charger. You’ll know it’s charging properly when the small LED stays solid red, and it turns white once it’s done. This handheld can also overheat quickly if you leave the temporary plastic cover on and accidentally block the vents on the back or side. This happened to me during setup when I placed it on a pillow for a few minutes; it shut down and wouldn’t turn on for several hours. Definitely remove that plastic sheet and always place it on a solid, flat surface to avoid blocking the active cooling vents. That being said, this handheld is not a toy and feels high‑quality. It has back buttons you can map, but you must use the Ayaneo layout instead of the Xbox layout in the Ayaneo app. I do wish the right‑side buttons were quieter, but they are clicky and a bit loud. The screen supports a 144Hz refresh rate, which you can lower in the settings, and it has good color despite not being OLED. I also wish the screen were less prone to fingerprints, and you’ll need to be mindful of reflections since it’s quite glossy. It’s a little heavy but has a comfortable shape, though I wouldn’t recommend it for a child for long gaming sessions. You can connect it to a monitor through the USB‑C port or a USB‑C to HDMI adapter, and you can pair Bluetooth controllers like an Xbox Series X controller. Android has a wide range of emulators available, and I was able to run a variety of games, but emulation isn’t perfect and may require trial and error. O

One of the Most Versatile Handhelds I Have Used
Android handhelds used to be something I bought mainly for retro emulation. The Pocket FIT is the first one I have used where that description feels too limiting. Between the Snapdragon G3 Gen 3 processor, 144Hz screen, Android gaming, PC emulation, and streaming from my desktop, I can bounce between several completely different generations of games on the same device without it feeling like any one of those uses was an afterthought. The first thing I noticed pulling my shiny new handheld out of the box is how comfortable the overall design is. I can play for a long session without feeling strain in my hands or periodically catching myself shifting my grip around trying to find a more comfortable position. The grips give my palms somewhere natural to rest, and the controls fall where I expect them to. At just under 400 grams, it also has enough substance to feel like a proper handheld without getting into the weight territory of some Windows devices. My one complaint with the controls is that I wish the analog sticks were a little larger. They are perfectly usable, and the Hall sensors themselves feel responsive and precise, but larger caps give me better leverage for shooters and anything requiring finer analog control. Thankfully, that is about the easiest complaint in the world to fix. AYANEO even offers larger replacement caps, and the Pocket FIT uses a common enough stick stem that there are other options as well. The screen might be the best LCD I have ever used on a handheld. Don't get it twisted, if I put it directly beside a good OLED, I can absolutely see the difference in black levels. But once I am actually in the middle of a game, I don't feel like I am missing out on much. Colors look fantastic and really pop, it gets bright enough that I can comfortably use it outside in indirect sunlight, and the 1080p resolution is incredibly sharp at only six inches. Probably the best you can buy right now
This is running the Snapdragon G3 gen 3, a very capable CPU in this point of emulation ability on Android. If Android has an emulator for it, it can run it and it runs it really well. While there are better CPUs out there like the elite, this one is really really good for the price to performance. The overall feeling and build quality of this handheld is also immaculate. It has a great feel to it. Although it doesn't feel super premium. I love the way the textures and curves on this are is so it's very comfortable from an ergonomic standpoint. It has nice little touches like the ability to change the triggers from analog to digital. It's got really good battery life and software support. And oh the best thing of all. This is a beautiful IPS screen. I would swear it's OLED but it's just IPS and looks so great. This is a awesome handheld at this point in time and while there will be better ones in the future, I think right now this is the best you can get.
