Great device if you can afford it
Fantastic device. Doesn't have rocknix support to my knowledge but GameNative works pretty decent with 2d titles on this. Device feels really premium and I always find myself picking it up over my other devices and spending hours on it highly recommend if you have the money to spare and don't feel like dropping 300 on the micro 2
Expensive for the quality you get
I was disappointed in the quality. Two dead pixels and a very glitchy interface. I also own a ayaneo pocket air and that one sadly is bad quality as well. Recommend anyone looking sticks to Ayn and Retroid.
just buy it
i ordered the one without the joysticks, i guess i got them as a bonus, however i use other devices with the joysticks, i wanted this to be more sleek and plain, anyway i wont lie, this thing feels like if apple manufactured it, its amazing, the quality is superb! i really think this is an outstanding piece of tech
Get if you have whatevs money
First off, love this thing. But I’m not sure if premium is the first thing I think of on first impressions. I got multiple input issues out of box when first booting up the lil guy. Fixed after updating everything, but why even ship it with a defect like that in the first place? Outside of that, loved playing gba and ps1 on it and the screen is mad nice. Really loved the feel of the matte textured aluminum chassis and don’t even mind the glass front… then you turn it around. The back plate is not flush with the chassis and has a noticeable buldge (wink, wink). With the grace of a drugged out elf, I managed to tear, er, daintily removed the plastic backplate to see how bad the battery looked. It was fine. The battery looked good. That’s just how it’s designed. I noticed the same buldge (wink, wink, wink) on others. Zim, zam, zoo, I recommend it, but don’t bs me and call it premium. Also, look up the antec one.
The joysticks are terrible and fall off all the time
There are very in depth youtube reviews on this so I'll save all the details and just mention my only gripe with this device. If it wasn't for the joysticks this would be in my pocket every day. It is very heavy for it's size so carrying it wasn't great, but that almost made playing it better. The dumb long joysticks take a fraction of any touch to just fall off. Put in your pocket, forget it, those joysticks are in your pocket somewhere. Take it out your glove box to put in your pocket on your way to a waiting room or something, nope. Found myself searching multiple parking lots looking for these joysticks and the rubber part under them many times. Finally decide screw it, I'll just forget joysticks and use this thing without. Nope two white plastics sticks point out of device a good 1/4in and looks awful. The joysticks are 100% the worst thing about this device and it is a miracle I have not lost them all together by now. This was by far the most expensive retro handheld I ever bought and I never touch it only because I know the joysticks will fall off and get lost if I do.
