Amazing toolless fast swapping portable unit
After exhaustive search I bought 2 Ugreen finned USB4 enclosures for my clones. I fitted them with high performing thermal pads, and they are as good as can be expected from relatively large air-cooling enclosures. I needed another enclosure for Samsung 9100 pro for more temporary and portable storage. I also needed an enclosure with fast swapping capabilities. Hence, I came across this unit. My God is it a tiny enclosure. I tested it with my 9100 pro. It performed as well on both speed and thermals as my much larger Ugreen enclosure. The fan is so quiet that even with my ear right against it I cannot hear it. In terms of fast swapping, it is toolless and takes no more than 5 seconds to install a drive. Simply amazing and well worth the asking price.

Poor documentation and software.
Not a good combination with the PX13. Install caused system to crash. Support was not helpful. The documentation is terrible. I had to upgrade the firmware on a different device to avoid the crashing.

A Videographer's Review: the Controller Matters
Summary: this enclosure offers great transfer speeds and portability at the cost of thermals. Mac compatibility is also questionable, and the ProArt software to manage/update the firmware is not available on Mac. Overall, it's a fast enclosure if you can deal with the heat. I've spent a couple of weeks with this enclosure now, and I was very impressed with the size and portability of it. The build quality is great, all aluminum, and the way you can swap SSDs quickly is very handy specially if you have a test bench for SSDs. I used to use the ROG version of this enclosure which was USB 3.2 (pictured), so I had high hopes for this one due to how similar in size they were (and no annoying RGB lights!). Now, this uses the PCIe Gen 4x4 interface, meaning that whatever SSD you plug into it (that's Gen 4) will run all 4 lanes at once, consuming the maximum amount of power. The SSDs I tested were the WD (or Sandisk Optimum) SN850X, Crucial T500, and Crucial P3 plus. The host computer was an M1 Max MacBook Pro which supports TB4 and USB4. Generally, I was able to saturate the USB 4 bandwidth (2500-2800MB/s) in both read and write speeds. Endurance, however, is a different story. Out of these, the SN850X performed the best for large sequential writing transfers (600GB+) but generates a significant amount of heat, and will thermal throttle despite there being a fan in this enclosure. The Crucial T500 and P3 plus ran much cooler, but also at slower speeds once the cache was exhausted (this is a characteristic of the SSD, not the enclosure). However, even though the onboard temperature readings were much lower on the Crucial drives, the exterior of the enclosure became exceedingly hot to the touch. Not quite enough to burn you, but close. I would be worried if this was on anything but a glass, wood, or metal surface (no tablecloths!). Reading from each drive was pretty much identical. You can expect near instant file transfers, previews, loading video into editing timelines, etc

Great add on for macOS limited storage.
Great enclosure for my SSD for running VMs, saved my internal SSD for my use.
