This is the best OLED monitor for 2026!

The ASUS ROG Strix OLED XG27AQWMG is one of the standout OLED gaming monitors of 2026, delivering meaningful improvements where it matters most. Its Tandem OLED panel achieves noticeably higher brightness than conventional OLED displays, addressing the typical concern of OLED screens appearing dim compared to Mini LED or traditional LCD monitors. Text clarity is also significantly improved. The newer RGWB (Red, Green, White, Blue) subpixel layout reduces color fringing and produces sharper, cleaner text compared to earlier RWGB-based OLED panels, making it far more comfortable for both gaming and desktop use. The QHD resolution hits an ideal balance between visual fidelity and performance. It offers crisp image quality without the demanding GPU overhead of 4K, making it a practical sweet spot for high-refresh-rate gaming. Another standout feature is the TrueBlack glossy coating. It enhances perceived contrast and sharpness, giving visuals a vivid, high-impact look. This is a welcome alternative to the matte finishes used on most modern monitors, which often introduce a slight haze or grain that dulls the image. As for concerns raised in online forums—particularly around vertical banding—they tend to be overstated. In real-world usage, the issue is far less prominent than some discussions suggest. Under normal viewing conditions, it’s unlikely to be noticeable, and it certainly doesn’t impact the overall experience in any meaningful way. Sehr empfehlenswerter Monitor für Gamer und OLED Liebhaber

Wie auch viele andere hatte ich vor dem Kauf bedenken vor der Gray Banding Panel Lotterie. Anfangs war auch ziemlich deutliches Gray Banding sichtbar, doch nach einigen Pixel Cleans (vor allem mit der aktuellsten Firmware, welche die Pixel Cleans noch effizienter gemacht hat) war selbst auf 95% Gray Scale kaum noch was zu sehen. In Spielen fällt es überhaupt nicht auf, vor allem auf 240hz refresh rate. FARBEN UND HELLIGKEIT: Dank Tandem WOLED Panel natürlich atemberaubend. FEATURES: Reichlich Anti-Burn-In Features an Bord, besonders der Neo-Proximity Sensor ist äußerst praktisch, da der Monitor nach wenigen Sekunden automatisch in den Standby schaltet, sobald man sich nicht mehr davor befindet. TEXT CLARITY: Sehr clean, mir fällt kein Text Fringing auf. Selbst nach langen Coding Sessions ermüdet mein Auge nicht. COATING: Glossy TrueBlack Coating gefällt mir auch sehr gut und lässt sich auch leicht mit dem beigelegten Mikrofasertuch ohne Mikrokratzer zu erzeugen reinigen. Wer jedoch Lichtquellen wie Lampen und Fenster gegenüber vom Monitor hat, sieht man das schon deutlich. Indirekte Lichtquellen haben keinen Einfluss. FAZIT: Wer am Anfang Banding sieht: Erstmal keine Panik, Firmware updaten, ein paar automatische Pixel Cleans machen lassen und das Problem erledigt sich von selbst. Absolute Kaufempfehlung meinerseits!

Perfect display if you can work around the downsides

Perfect looking display. I was worried about gray banding at first, as WOLED monitors of this generation seem to have problems with it, but after a few hours and a pixel refresh I can't notice anything even in dark apps like VSCode and Discord unless I get uncomfortably close to the screen. Definitely a non-issue for gaming of any kind. The monitor is built very sturdy, but is prone to fingerprints due to being glossy. It comes with a microfiber cloth to clean any dust or fingerprints, and the coating seems more resistant than on QD-OLEDs of the same generation so I wouldn't worry about it scratching easily. The monitor comes fairly well calibrated out of the box. The only things I changed were the color temperature to 7500K and the color space to sRGB after setting the calibration to user mode. I use this monitor in a room with a window during the day and don't feel the need to set it above 75% brightness, it is a very bright display. I noticed that my peripherals reflected a lot of light off of the screen in the dark, and had to dim them because of this. This monitor would not be ideal for someone with a very bright RGB setup, especially one with their monitor sitting next to their PC. Considering the expected lifetime of WOLEDs is expected to be higher than QD-OLEDs, I believe this is the first time an OLED monitor has made sense financially. I don't expect to be replacing this screen for the next 5-10 years, so I think it was worth the price.

Monitor Tandem OLED da paura

Monitor assolutamente fantastico. Arrivato puntualmente, non presenta problemi di greybanding. Il passaggio da un IPS, sempre Asus, di fascia molto all'epoca, si sente parecchio. Questo pannello è totalmente di un altro pianeta. Temevo il passaggio da un monitor matte ad uno glossy, a causa dei possibili riflessi dati da possibili fonti luminose alle mie spalle, ma il nuovo trattamento che è stato usato su questo XG27AQWMG azzera quasi questo "problema" dei monitor glossy. Monitor super consigliato, considerando anche il prezzo in relazione alle nuovi tecnologie presenti!
