Image quality unacceptable
Image quality unacceptable. Text looks jagged and I get dizzy after short use. Dual-screen mode needs 3 cables (2 video + 1 power), impractical for a portable monitor.
As adverticed
Really good. I which it had higher DPI and a more scratch friendly cover, but otherwise it is spot on.
Functional display with a few quirks
It is a functional monitor, not bad implementation by Asus with some innovative features (so looking to me at least!), like the stand, the ability to use it in two orientation on same stand. It's a bit expensive at close to GBP 500. The two screens are nice and bright oleds. The ability to drive them in different scenarios (two separate sources, separate screens, driven from the same PC, or aggregate the two screens as a 2x bigger one. Three stars because the top display is noticeably dimmer than the bottom one. Not a huge issue and not impacting functionality much, but annoying to the user expecting perfection for their $$$. Before buying I saw a review that was complaining about the same issue. It would be nice if Asus allowed independent brightness controls for the two screens. The typical use case is to add display real estate to your laptop when away from the monitor you have on your work desk, whether in the living room, garden, or abroad. It's nice that power can be delivered through the same USBC as display, so in the ideal scenario you only need one cable. But caution: this depends on how much your laptop can deliver on that port _and_ on the brightness of the asus display, and on the contents shown on it. Yes that's right, you can be a bit surprised by the asus display working initially ok, then bombing out if you suddenly open a full screen white window on it. The solution to make it more reliable: connect Asus displays power USBC to a 2nd USBC port on your laptop. Unless you only have 2x USBC ports on said laptop and you have to use one to charge it :/ So tldr: a functional, innovative display, if you can live with its quirks.
