Fun and very powerful IoT board

I enjoy working with IoT devices, and when I saw that Arduino released this hybrid board, I had to grab one to check it out. Without getting into details, I have to say it is a very powerful board. Lots of connectivity and plenty of computing power to throw just about anything at it. If there is anything negative about it, it’s that it's still in a development phase for some of the software, so the hobbyist might have to work around a few things. Great little board with lots of resources for the price. Very highly recommended, even with some software issues.

Powerful Hardware, But Not Beginner-Friendly or Easy to Use

I bought the Arduino UNO Q 4GB because the hardware specifications looked very impressive. It combines a Qualcomm Dragonwing QRB2210 processor with an STM32U585 microcontroller, and the 4GB version includes 4GB LPDDR4 RAM and 32GB eMMC storage. On paper, this is a very powerful board compared to traditional Arduino boards. However, my experience was disappointing because this board is not very user-friendly. It feels more like a complicated Linux single-board computer plus microcontroller combination than a simple Arduino development board. For someone expecting the normal Arduino experience of connecting sensors, uploading sketches, and getting results quickly, this board can become frustrating. The dual system may be powerful, but it also adds complexity. You are dealing with Linux, Arduino-side code, board communication, libraries, setup issues, and a newer development workflow. Even simple projects can take much longer than expected. In my case, tasks that are simple on other Arduino or ESP32 boards became unnecessarily complicated on this board. I understand this board is designed for advanced AI, IoT, robotics, and Linux-based projects, and it does have strong processors and good specifications. But for regular makers, students, hobby users, and people who want a simple microcontroller board, I do not think this is the best choice. It needs better documentation, easier examples, and a more beginner-friendly setup process. Overall, the Arduino UNO Q 4GB is powerful, but power alone does not make a board practical. For my use, it was not convenient or user-friendly, and I would not recommend it to beginners or anyone expecting the simple classic Arduino experience.
