Description is Wrong in Good Ways

This monitor is what it says it does. Some of the spec details are wrong. 1st it is NOT GLOSSY! It is a Matte Finish that looks amazing! That part worried me but it has nice looking screen with amazing colors. The 4k is crisp and beautiful but the HDR is mediocre which is expected at this price range. 1080 mode is bad when you look at words/texts but the 300 fps really does shine. 2nd the picture says HDMI 2.0 but that picture is wrong and it's definitely 2.1! Don't that. The menu buttons are a little clunky but I have a curved Acer Nitro so I'm used to it. This is all around a great monitor. The stand is actually pretty good too with tons of movement. The stand wiggles when you hit menu buttons but it's still really good. My Series X and my PC look great. I highly recommend. It's more like 4.5 stars but this one deserves the full 5 star.

Unfortunate

it's probably a great monitor based on specs and other reviews online, if it wasn't literally DOA. Guess I rolled the dice based on reviews from other sites and lost. Tried a few different cables and outlets, couldn't even get the LED power switch to light up. really too bad. If you decide to take your chances like I did then I hope you have better luck.

Great once calibrated, first one defective

After initially receiving one that had half of the backlights dead and a non functional display port, Amazon exchanged it no questions asked and the second one I received is fantastic! I have it as a secondary monitor that I use for esports games. The high refresh rate is nice. The HDR is ok, it takes a little bit to get it calibrated. And the brightness is reading as much higher on nits than advertised. As others have said the buttons are a bit clunky, but once you get the settings dialed in, you won’t be touching them much! The colors are vibrant and the screen has more of a matte finish which I like. It pairs well with my main 4k BenQ. It’s only 144hz refresh so I use that one for RPGs and immersion games. I would definitely buy this one again!

Nice picture, minor defect on arrival

This is a very nice monitor, especially for the price! It looks great at full brightness, and the picture out-of-the-box apart from color temperature. It's very nice. Also, it didn't need any tweaks to look right and the base is stable. The viewing angles are very good, especially as a newer fast IPS panel. The motion is VERY clear, and there's no burn-in, no ghosting, and no DisplayPort problems. I don't use HDR so I can't attest to that, but I am really happy about everything else. The matte coating doesn't get in the way of the picture. I'll take this over an OLED any day of the week - no need to do a panel refresh, no maintenance requirements, and it looks like the warranty apparently covers 1 incident of CID in the first year, and has a three year no-dead-pixel warranty as well as advance replacement for that duration. The unit I received had a minor defect donut-shaped bright spot ONLY on the color white that is not visible at 100% brightness in the lower right quadrant that was about 1/4in wide. However, no dead pixels. So, no need to exchange in my opinion but your mileage may vary if there are any defects.

Beautiful monitor!

This is a beautiful monitor. It is very convenient and easy to use. It came very carefully packaged from the manufacturer. Unboxing was relatively easy after getting the styrofoam case gently pulled from the box. The stand went together in a snap and the click onto the back of the monitor was very satisfying. I like that the stand has a metal core, and, that the pieces go together with the key screw in the bottom, which makes it super easy. This monitor is very adjustable. It has the ability to be raised up and down on its stand; pivoted from side to side; tilted up and down; and even turned from landscape to portrait. Very impressive. The picture was rather dull and unimpressive right out of the box. HOWEVER, after manipulating the built-in settings I now have an extremely clear, bright, sharp picture that is a joy to use for EVERYTHING. It. Is. Beautiful. I have not used it for gaming - yet. I did watch quite a few YouTube videos, which were pretty awesome. I may come back later and update the gaming performance once I get everything set back up in my office. This looks and feels quite durable. I have another AOC monitor, and several other AOC gadgets and electronic devices and find them to be of excellent quality. I'm looking forward to a long relationship with this lovely monitor as well. One little confusing thing about this monitor for me was that my computer expected it to have speakers. And, there were audio control settings on the monitor's setup menu as well. I am embarrassed to admit I spent a ridiculous amount of time trying to get the non-existing speakers to work. I did update the drivers in my computer in the process, though, which were long overdue for updating. So that's a plus. A gorgeous monitor - I love it! Excellent value for it's generous size!
