One of the Best Isekai Stories Ever Made
I love the Re:ZERO anime so much, and getting started with the novels has made me even more excited to collect the whole series. In my opinion, Re:ZERO is one of the best isekai stories ever made. It stands out from so many other series in the genre because it is not just about being transported to another world—it is about pain, trauma, growth, failure, and the emotional cost of starting over again and again. Volume 1 is such a strong beginning. It introduces Subaru, the world, and the story’s central concept in a way that immediately hooks you. What I have always liked about Subaru is that he does not feel like a typical overpowered main character. He is flawed, emotional, and often overwhelmed, which makes his struggles feel much more real. That gives the story a lot more emotional weight. Instead of fantasy being an escape, it often becomes a very harsh test of endurance and character. Reading the novel also gives me an even deeper appreciation for the story because there is more detail in the world-building, character thoughts, and atmosphere. The tension feels stronger, and the emotional beats land really well. If you already love the anime, the novel is such a rewarding experience because it lets you spend more time with the story and understand Subaru’s journey even better. I already know I want to collect all the novels because this series means so much to me. It is dramatic, emotional, suspenseful, and so much more layered than people might expect from an isekai. Volume 1 is an excellent start to an amazing series, and I highly recommend it to anyone who loves fantasy stories with real emotional stakes.
Faszinierende Geschichte mit wunderschönen Illustrationen
Nachdem mich der Anime in den Bann gezogen hat und der Manga hierzulande erst mit zwei Bänden vertreten ist, wollte ich nun auch anfangen, den Light Novel zu lesen. Dass die einzige von mir halbwegs beherrschte Sprache, in der diese Reihe vorhanden ist, englisch ist, stört mich hierbei nicht, ganz im Gegenteil, ich habe gehofft, meine Schulkenntnisse dadurch nochmal auffrischen zu können. Das Buch kam bei mir in einem Umschlag mit Luftpolsterfolie an und war ohne Mängel. Bisher habe ich erst die ersten paar Seiten gelesen, wobei mir aufgefallen ist, dass das in dieser Übersetzung verwendete Englisch sehr leicht zu verstehen ist, sodass man nach einigen Jahren Schulenglisch eigentlich überhaupt nichts nachschlagen muss. Anders als im Manga und Anime wird auch viel mehr auf die Emotionen und Gedanken der Charaktere eingegangen, sodass man vom ersten Satz an mitten in der Handlung drin ist und sich schnell überall hineinversetzen kann. Auch die über das Buch verteilten Illustrationen sind trotz fehlender Farben sehr ausdrucksstark und ergänzen die Handlung. Farbige Bilder findet man nur am Anfang des Buchs, denn dort werden die für die Handlung relevanten Charaktere kurz vorgestellt, ohne dass zu weit vorausgegriffen wird. Wie bereits erwähnt, habe ich das Buch bisher nur kurz angelesen, allerdings bin ich schon dabei, den zweiten Band zu bestellen, was für dieses grandiose Gesamtwerk spricht.

I love this book so much, rezero is such a good novel
